One of the managers here has terrible attitude and terrible customer service. I purchased a bunch of gardenias and forestgreen boxwood from this location for redoing my yard. When I got home, my yard guy told me 4 of them were Japanese boxwood. I went back to the store and told them that someone who must have put the Japanese boxwood in the Forest green boxwood section because I pulled all the plants from the same section. I asked if I could just exchange them for the right kind since it . They were still in the pot and had not even been put in the ground and it had only been an hour since I left the store. The manager refused and I tried to reason with him and explain that it wasn't really my mistake because someone there had clearly put the wrong plant in the wrong section. The difference between Japanese and Forest Green is very minute and hard to distinguish. The manager plainly refuse in a rude manner that no exchange would happen because that is their policy once I leave the store. Try to reason with him saying but someone there had made the mistake of putting the wrong plants in the section where I pulled it from. He still refused to help me and was extremely agitated and just walked off. I asked to get his boss's number so I could talk to him and see what could be done but he refused to give it to me. I asked for his name so I could reference it later if I needed to call the corporate office. He refused to give me his name so I tried to take a picture of him and that's when he started getting in my face. I had to tell him not to touch me and if he did I would call the police. Indiana a second manager was reasonable and let me exchange the boxwood for the right kind. Overall a terrible experience since I had to get into a shouting match with the manager for him to not...
Read moreThis month I bought a large amount of azalea's and shrubs for my garden from the Houston Garden Center 77079. It was towards the end of the day. We brought the shrubs to the house and placed them in the porch. Two days later the gardener came to plant the shrubs. To our amazement six of the azalea's were infested with bugs. The gardener suggested to return them and prevent further infestation of the healthy plans. We drove to the store and showed the employee the receipt and infested plans. He went to speak to the supervisor on site. Moments later the supervisor came to tell us that the plans were healthy and in perfect shape at the time of purchase and the infestation took place within the 48 hours the plants were in the house. It was a very insulting, irresponsible and inconsiderate response. I was in shock. There was no further discussion to be made. I was out of pocket $161.94 and we disposed the plants right away. Not a professional place to do business with. I feel cheated and totally disappointed. Will never do business...
Read moreLike one reviewer wrote last week, we bought $120 Christmas tree one week after Thanksgiving. A couple days after that, we noticed it didn’t “ drink water “ at all , long story short, it totally dead now and all the needles are on the floor and Christmas presents. Last week, we watched local news and found out it didn’t just happen to us, hundreds of other people had same problem like us, they said if you contact HGC, they will give you credit for what you paid. So my husband called and told them the problem, the lady on the phone was not very nice, she said “ it must be because of the heat in your house,we don’t give any credit “, my husband said” we have heat in our house every year and it was on the news “, then she changed her tone and said we have to email the and send them pictures of the tree. ( we understand). So we took a video clip and email them. So far we haven’t heard back from them yet. But it was so disappointed and inconvenient to buy a big Christmas tree, took so much time to decorate and it died...
