This month I bought a large amount of azalea's and shrubs for my garden from the Houston Garden Center 77079. It was towards the end of the day. We brought the shrubs to the house and placed them in the porch. Two days later the gardener came to plant the shrubs. To our amazement six of the azalea's were infested with bugs. The gardener suggested to return them and prevent further infestation of the healthy plans. We drove to the store and showed the employee the receipt and infested plans. He went to speak to the supervisor on site. Moments later the supervisor came to tell us that the plans were healthy and in perfect shape at the time of purchase and the infestation took place within the 48 hours the plants were in the house. It was a very insulting, irresponsible and inconsiderate response. I was in shock. There was no further discussion to be made. I was out of pocket $161.94 and we disposed the plants right away. Not a professional place to do business with. I feel cheated and totally disappointed. Will never do business with the firmZ

This makes the 2nd yr in a row we've gotten our tree from here. Just like last year, we first stopped by Moon Nursery that's just diagonally down the freeway, and once again found their prices really high. We paid $89 for our tree at Houston Garden Center, and the other place wanted $119 for the same thing! A new concern this year for me was staying distant from the other shoppers, which was nearly impossible to do at Moon Nursery, but Garden Center's inventory was nice and spread out. 😷👍 Well done there. The employee in my photo on the left, I don't know his name, but he was super chill and really nice, happy to pull out like 20 different freakin trees for my parents to inspect, and we joked around while my parents tried to make up their minds. While he tied the tree to our car, I heard him say he's worked there for 5 yrs. We all appreciated his help immensely. My mom mentioned that a few simple things there, like greenery and wreaths seemed pricey, but I figure that's how they probably keep the tree costs low.

Bought 8-9 foot Fraser Fir I believe with the base for water. Before I finished checking out the guys were already stapling the base onto the tree. I asked if they cut the bottom of the tree trunk off which they said they did, but I never saw them and just believed them. Got the tree inside the house and immediately filled base with water and the Xmas tree liquid food I also bought from their store. The next day I noticed it didn't drink any water. Couple days later the tree is dried up and brown and all the needles are falling off and is more of a fire hazard than anything. I called the main number and the manager avoids my calls, never calls me back and never offered anything to make it right. Horrible experience, I will never come back here and hope no one else makes mistake of coming here. $150+ down the drain

One of the managers here has terrible attitude and terrible customer service. I purchased a bunch of gardenias and forestgreen boxwood from this location for redoing my yard. When I got home, my yard guy told me 4 of them were Japanese boxwood. I went back to the store and told them that someone who must have put the Japanese boxwood in the Forest green boxwood section because I pulled all the plants from the same section. I asked if I could just exchange them for the right kind since it . They were still in the pot and had not even been put in the ground and it had only been an hour since I left the store. The manager refused and I tried to reason with him and explain that it wasn't really my mistake because someone there had clearly put the wrong plant in the wrong section. The difference between Japanese and Forest Green is very minute and hard to distinguish. The manager plainly refuse in a rude manner that no exchange would happen because that is their policy once I leave the store. Try to reason with him saying but someone there had made the mistake of putting the wrong plants in the section where I pulled it from. He still refused to help me and was extremely agitated and just walked off. I asked to get his boss's number so I could talk to him and see what could be done but he refused to give it to me. I asked for his name so I could reference it later if I needed to call the corporate office. He refused to give me his name so I tried to take a picture of him and that's when he started getting in my face. I had to tell him not to touch me and if he did I would call the police. Indiana a second manager was reasonable and let me exchange the boxwood for the right kind. Overall a terrible experience since I had to get into a shouting match with the manager for him to not...

Like one reviewer wrote last week, we bought $120 Christmas tree one week after Thanksgiving. A couple days after that, we noticed it didn’t “ drink water “ at all , long story short, it totally dead now and all the needles are on the floor and Christmas presents. Last week, we watched local news and found out it didn’t just happen to us, hundreds of other people had same problem like us, they said if you contact HGC, they will give you credit for what you paid. So my husband called and told them the problem, the lady on the phone was not very nice, she said “ it must be because of the heat in your house,we don’t give any credit “, my husband said” we have heat in our house every year and it was on the news “, then she changed her tone and said we have to email the and send them pictures of the tree. ( we understand). So we took a video clip and email them. So far we haven’t heard back from them yet. But it was so disappointed and inconvenient to buy a big Christmas tree, took so much time to decorate and it died...
