Monterrey Tire Center Inc — Attraction in Houston

I had a slow leak in my tire and since my regular shop was closed, I tried these guys. A flat tire waits for no one and I have learned the hard way not to put these kinds of things off for long. No way! There were plenty of open bays for working on tires. I explained my rear passenger was the one with a leak and he got to work on it right away. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. I drive up at about 9:30 am and althought I didn't have to wait, I would probably expect a possible wait during lunchtime or other peak times. About 4 additional clients pulled up during my wait if that tells you anything. Once my tire was plugged and the rim was back in place, the guy even checked the pressure and topped up the rest of my tires as needed. Great service and a very reasonable price to fix my sad tire!! I gave him a few bucks in appreciation. This review being written in Dec. 2020, it was nice to see every member of the staff wearing their masks and wearing them correctly. Not a big deal to everyone but it definitely matters to me. I recommend these guys! My uncle and dad used to go out of their way to head to this shop but I almost forgot about these guys as I was previously on the other side of town. This is a very well established shop that has been in the same spot for years and years. Not your fly by night rinky dink little tire joint. We needed some tires to head out of town during Hurricane Beryl. At first we were happy because they were open and they seemed to do a very professional job. Three weeks later one of their tires hit a nail, so we took it to our usual shop to get patched. My trusted mechanics were horrified by how old and dry the tire was, especially when they found out how much I paid. $140 for what we found out were two 7 year old tires. One of the tires is still on our car and we are going to need to replace it ASAP. I went in to the shop again to explain what happened and they said there was nothing they could do because it was past the 15 days. They looked at the tire that was still on and said it was not dry, that 7 years old was ok. Nothing was done to try to compensate or make things right. I will be filing a dispute via the BBB and the FTC, and then going through our bank if necessary. I have bought used tires from other shops, with no issues, and I always get a good year or two out of them. I have never paid so much for a used tire and gotten so little out of them. At the time during the city wide power outages, they were one of the few shops open which is why I overlooked the price. I cannot recommend this place enough. My wife got a flat on Friday morning. We were in town for a wedding this weekend. We live about an hour away so I planned to limp the car back to our area in order to get the flat fixed or even replace the tire. A friend in the area said to drop in and give Monterrey Tire Center a chance to look at it because he has had great experiences with them in the past. I pulled in on our way out this morning, one of the techs directed me in, and told me he could patch the tire no problem. Mind you this was a busy Saturday morning in the area, and there were plenty of people in the bays getting tires worked on. Before I could go across to HEB and grab cash he already had 2 nail holes patched and was putting the repaired tire on. I was incredibly pleased with the wait time, the quality of the work, and the transparency through the whole process. Whenever I need anything tires, I will likely make the hour plus trip down here to deal with these guys again!...
