The Loud — Attraction in Huntington

Update: attended this years brag on drag event. Purchased tickets in advance and arrived at 8 when event said doors would open. Stood in line in the cold for 20 minutes before giving up and getting back in my car for heat. Line still wasn’t moving by 8:50...I finally got inside at 9:30. They apologized and were truly doing their best, but they were not prepared for the amount of people that showed up. My suggestion for next time is people who have purchased tickets ahead of time get to go through the line first-there are two doors, create one line for people with tickets and another for those buying tickets at the door. Would have gone much faster and not resulted in missing several performances. Still a fun event, just needs to be better planned.

Came to see Nina West perform. I got to go backstage where they had set up a really beautiful dressing room for Nina. The club itself was kind of run down and dank, but the people running the event were super helpful and excited. Nina’s meet and greet went well and her performance was amazing. Great space, however, during an insanely loud, ticketed and bounced metal show, they let a fake service dog in to attend. The noise levels were deafening as an anttendee, but that's my choice. A fake service animal (wouldn't listen to commands, had to be physically lifted and pushed under the table to lay down, was not performing tasks for his inebriated owner) has no choice and it is up to the venue to scrutinize and protect both the animal and the rest of the crowd. Kinda my hometown venue. I go to several shows a year here. Been to dozens of shows here even when it was The V Club. Free on the street parking. Affordable tickets in advance or at the door for most shows. Great staff, great security. Bathrooms give you a reel dive/90s feel like a movie. Smoking area has a bar as well as the main area inside, and drinks are affordable. Small stage, but they always make it work. If you're hungry afterwards, Sheetz is right across the street.
