First I would like to give credit where credit is due....My family are all big fans of Jared's jewelry. The past 23 yrs we have purchased from Jared's locations all over DFW metroplex. We love the quality & beautiful pieces they have to offer, as well as how wonderful, helpful & professional their staff are.Today's experience has made me 💯 % sure I'll never be back at the Hurst store as well as I'm returning my husband's $600 gift. 11:03 am. I'm @ the door & noticed its locked. Ok, cool a few mins & someone will happily greet me & let me in...Nope...as I call the store I hear the door unlock... you've seen me looking through the windows, doors & you clearly see me waiting 2 get in & you don't even acknowledge my presence...good customer service such as a pleasant gesture by pushing door open & saying "good morning, welcome to Jared's, happy Valentines day" I mean anything would've been nice. This didnt so much bother me, only did i know it was just the beginning. Not sure who hired these FLOCK OF HATERS, but I've always considered Jareds a classier jewelry store until today. Inside i see a customer in a UPS uniform...so how the hell did he get VIP entry? Maybe delivering online orders gets u VIP. The lady rudely ask what I needed....i have a gift that i ordered online I need to pick up...then she tells me she needs my ID. She didnt ask she told me, I hand it to her & she takes off towards the back. I tell her I also have my email confirmation & she tells me she doesn't need it & says "you can go back over there" & did a hand gesture at me like I was a fly or something! (VERY RUDE).....She comes back with my item & did some stuff on her iPad then turns it around for me to sign without saying a word. During this a man & woman walk in & both the flock greet them happily! The lady then shows me my husband's bracelet & says (rudely) "here's your bracelet & your receipt " then walks off with both. I'm confused at why im being treated like this...is it bc its an online order & u dont get any commission (if u do or dont idk & idc at this point) is it bc i didnt spend thousands, maybe its bc i didnt look like i had any reason to be there or was it because WE ALL NEED JESUS? Because at this time ive been nothing but a target for her to throw attitude at for absolutely no reason...i have no reason to disrespect this lady, but its starting to become difficult to remain humble at the moment. I mean ive been very nice bc I like 2 be & im excited about picking up my husbands gift. My day has been going great, up 2 this point where now I'm just trying to keep my JESUS in me and 🤫watch my tongue...then a blessing came out of nowhere in the form of a beautiful & pleasant fellow human by the name of MARESHA. She was the ONLY one to smile in my direction & tell me "HI, good morning," in which I returned the kind words along with a "you're the nicest employee here" & ask her name & told her how rude the rest of her staff is. Thank GOD she took over from the rude flock & made the rest of the couple of minutes at Jared's an experience that I'm used too. I'm not sure who the manager is but I'm hoping it wasnt the one i first encountered. I will be reporting this to corporate! This is by far the worst experience at any jewelry store ever!!! I would expect more out of Jared's employees! MARESHA YOU DESERVE RECOGNITION FOR YOUR AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE.....maybe they could consider having u give your other staff a class on customer service basics! I didnt deserve the way i was treated, & she was lucky Im trying to stay right with JESUS or my husband wouldve been bonding me out with this refund from his valentines day gift. GOD BLESS YOU MARESHA FOR BEING SUCH A HUMBLE...
Read morePlease note: the following is a review for the Jared credit card that I signed up for when I purchased an engagement ring last year. The service I had was great and we are happy with the ring but had a horrible experience with the credit card.
Beware of the "residual interest" when signing up for their credit card! I went to Jared for an engagement ring and ended up signing up for their credit card for my purchase. I had 12 months interest-free; my total purchase was around $5,500, and by the end of the interest-free period, I had about $1,800 left to pay off. Now admittedly, I didn't realize that I was coming up on the 12 months, but by the time I realized the promotion had just expired, I was hit with about a $1,000 interest charge! To me, that is a ridiculous amount of interest, and like I said, I know I should have kept better track of the time, but I also feel that as a respectable company, there should have been some notification that the interest-free promotion was about to end. I didn't receive any notification in the mail or on my online account giving me a heads-up. To me, it seems like they're banking on people forgetting so that they can charge them with these huge interest fees, which is a very sleazy tactic.
So I tried to see if they could work with me at all on the interest charge, but they wouldn't budge. Okay, so I bit the bullet and paid off the entire remaining balance (which came out to around $2,800). But then the next month, I got hit with a $38 interest charge, even though my remaining balance from the month before was $0! So I called to see why I'm still getting charged an interest fee on a $0 balance, and they said it's because of residual interest. All right, so a huge and very expensive lesson learned here: I will be more aware of what I'm signing up for in the future, and I've already closed my account.
But I want to bring to light that A) they should do a better job at warning people just how painfully expensive it is if you have any remaining balance after the interest-free promotional period ends, and B) they should do a better job at reminding or notifying customers when their promotional period is coming to an end. And I get it, ultimately it falls on me for not paying better attention, but as a respectable company you should be looking out for your customers and not trying to bank on them losing track of time just so that you can hit them with ridiculous interest fees because now you have lost a customer for life. I went somewhere else and bought my wedding bands and will not be going back to Jared for anything in the future. Just a warning to anyone out there considering signing up for their...
Read moreI can only give this store 3 stars because most of the employees I've dealt with here are either incredibly pushy, or just ignorant, having to consult the manager for ever single question posed. The exception to this rule is Diego. If this review were about Diego only, it would be 5 stars, hands down. He was friendly, never pushy, and is the gem of this location. I gave him my budget, and he only brought me pieces within it. He thought creatively, and brought multiple pieces to mix and match to ensure we got the look I was going for. Every other person that I spoke with (5 different people) made me feel uncomfortable, trying to push me beyond my budget. "You can always open up a Jared card!" I take my budget very seriously, and don't purchase things on credit to be paid off later. I explained multiple times that it wasn't that I didn't have the money, just that I didn't want to spend beyond what I had planned for. Diego was the only employee, manager or otherwise, that took this to heart. He was amazing! My advice - call and set up an appointment with him before going into the store.
One last note - save yourself a headache, and accept a bottle of water or cup of coffee from the first person that asks you if you want one...even if you don't. If you say no, every person working in the store will come by to ask you if they can...
