Surf Hut — Attraction in Imperial Beach

My first impressions of the shop are that they just put as much stuff in a store as possible. Would be nice to be able to walk up to the boards or shop around the clothes without stuff on the floor. The staff was young and uneducated trying to sell boards that are 5+ years old, with dings and delams. They state they are are brand new and worth the 600+ dollars they wanted to charge. I was interested in a few boards and was asking on pricing considering the issues on the boards but the kids there were just snappy and the owner was quiet and should probably step in at some point to help himself and his shop out. We love this place! Great variety of goods for sure, but even better is the cool guy that owns this place! We've visited here from out of state twice, and the owner is the nicest, most friendly guy EVER! He makes you feel like family! We've talked about him and our shopping experience for the last 2 years! Super friendly staff too! You can tell that authentically, kind customer service is important to these guys.

Went in there this morning to pick up a surfboard leash with a key holder. The cashier (pretty sure he is the owner) was busy on the phone, totally understandable, then this young guy who worked there noticed I was just sort of waiting for the cashier, he asked if I needed help with anything, told him what I needed, showed me right away where they were and helped me pick out exactly what I needed, super cool guy/worker.
