A Delicious Discovery at Saraga International Grocery Store's Food Truck Festival!
I recently stumbled upon the international food truck festival hosted by Saraga International Grocery Store, and it was an absolute delight! We accidentally discovered it on its last day, and I'm so glad we did.
The variety of vendors was impressive, offering a wide range of international cuisines that showcased the diversity of global flavors. From savory street food to sweet treats, every bite was a culinary adventure.
The atmosphere was lively and festive, with a great crowd of foodies and families enjoying the delicious offerings. The event was well-organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
However, I did notice that some vendors could improve their setup by having handwashing stations nearby. My son was enjoying ice cream, and it made me think about the importance of proper hand hygiene, especially when handling food.
I highly recommend Saraga International Grocery Store to continue hosting more food truck festivals in the coming summer. It would be fantastic to see more events like this, bringing people together to celebrate food, culture, and community.

Read moreLast Sunday, I made a second visit to Saraga International Market for Korean grocery shopping, traveling 80 miles each way. Compared to other Korean and Asian grocery stores within a 100-mile radius of my home or around Indianapolis, Saraga undoubtedly offers a greater variety of Korean items. Please note that my comparison is limited to Korean products, as I cannot speak to their selection of other Asian items like Chinese, Indian, or Southeast Asian groceries. The items at Saraga are a bit pricey, but I can't really complain about that, given that this is a supplier's market in Indianapolis, unlike the more competitive markets in Chicago or Los Angeles.
Among other items, a box of napa cabbage for making kimchi is reason for this review. Unfortunately, we had to discard more than half of it. Many of the outer leaves were unclean, damaged, and discolored. While I noticed these issues from the top oppening of the box, I didn't inspect each napa cabbage individually at the store, as doing so would be inconvenient and could create an unpleasant scene for other shoppers and store staff. I assumed the napa cabbage would be of acceptable quality, as I expected the store would not sell subpar produce. At home, in addition to the outer leaves, we had to discard some nappa in its entirety as they are rotten from inside. Typically, a box of napa cabbage yields about 6 to 7.5 gallons of kimchi, but this time we only got around 3.5 gallons. This disappointing experience, while only a single instance, has made me reconsider shopping here for Korean groceries. I rather drive 3.5 hours to Chicago for my major Korean grocery...
Read moreThe Grand Opening on the coldest days this winter did not keep anyone away from checking this place out! Dress in extra layers since the heaters are struggling to keep everyone warm from the bitter cold outside. The store is huge open concept. Shelves are stocked neatly. Not all items are priced yet so be prepared to ask. Restrooms are located to the left of the main entrance by Tous Les Jours bread and pastry corner. Great to now have a legit food court, but not all vendors are open yet. Korn's and So Gong Dong Soon Tofu & BBQ so far are open. Corn dogs are tasty!! Recommend the beef or seafood soon tofu and dolsot (hot pot) bibimbap dishes which were delicious! Overall, do not set expectations too high as they are learning and trying their best to keep up with the pace of serving enthusiastic customers. Customer service was nice when we visited. The owners were present and eager to receive direct feedback and yes the "Jewerly" sign was brought to his attention to be corrected. lol Hopefully this location will be blessed in 2023 and beyond with lots of business and most importantly to be able to maintain cleanliness and the general upkeep. Area competitors will need to up their game to survive especially with competitive pricing. I can confidently say that I do not need to travel to Chicago for staple and unique...
