I own a Blade 350QX3 Quadcopter and have had it for about a year and a half. Recently I found out that there was a graphic user interface that you can connect the quad to. I had flown the quad a couple of weeks ago with no issues and took some video with my CGO2 camera on the quad, which turned out great. The problem was that I could not get the quad to recognize the GUI on my macbook air. I tried everything. After three consecutive days on the phone with both apple and horizon hobby for tech support, I was really frustrated because now not only my quad wouldn't work but the GUI would not work as well. I could not even get the quad to bind or get a GPS lock on the quad. After calling Hobby Town the next day the guy I spoke to said that I know exactly what the problem is your pins are bent on the cable where the GPS connects to the quad. He said that he has seen it about 7 or 8 times. If don't know the technical name of the wire inside the quad, but it also connects to the USB cable used for firmware updates, which I could not get to work as mentioned earlier. Hoping that the guy at Hobby Town was correct, i took my quad in over lunch hour a couple of days ago and sure enough, he looked at the pins on the wiring under a microscope and said they were bent. He than proceeded to fix the pins and within one minute had the quad binding and within a few minutes we were flying the quad out back of the store. I was impressed with the customer service their and could not believe it was something that simple that prevented the quad from binding and also prevented me from connecting to the GUI on my macbook air. This is an awesome store with A+ customer service. I am in the military and was in uniform, I offered to pay them, but they would not take money because he said that he would not charge me for the service since I was in uniform. Awesome store and thanks for fixing my quad and ending my frustration...
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised with this shop, our son is a budding model railroad enthusiast and was wanting to check if they had either of the 2 engines he was interested in for his layout. There aren’t many places around that you can go and shop for model railroading anymore, and he was pretty starry-eyed at all the actual bits and pieces in stock. He was even more THRILLED to find, not only one of the engines he was hoping to find, but it was in a set, so came with, not only more track, but the caboose he wanted. Also at a very reasonable price and did not hesitate to purchase it with his own money. The cashier was FANTASTIC, and even helped him navigate the card reader, he’s only 14, he’s just learning the ropes of a job and debit card. Lol He helped make a nervous teen, less nervous. I really appreciated that! I would have given them 5 stars, but the gentleman that was working the trains location wasn’t friendly at all and, most likely unintentionally, embarrassed my son when he asked about a train that ended up not being for sale by being pretty unfriendly, and borderline rude, considering my son was really respectful and polite. Despite the embarrassment at first, he was still able to find a treasure, and wasn’t too upset after getting over his initial embarrassment and shrugged it off as the guy probably was just having a bad day, I just wish the gentleman had been more friendly to him I guess. All in all he loved the shop and after he builds his bank account back up, has a list of things to go back for. Lol Despite the hiccup, I still highly recommend them for model railroading enthusiasts. He’s just a beginner, but they had quite a bit...

So, Mr William "Bill" Scott, you have a problem with your employees. I went to your store today during a time that it is unclear if any given store is going to be open and was happy to see your store was open. I was looking to purchase 2 complete sets of tires for my Kraton 6s as well as some other accessories. I had the tires in hand when an employee named John took a call. He was snippy with the person who called to find out if the store was open. When he hung up he said "That's the last time I answer the phone." Then proceeds to tell the rest of the employees "the dude asked if we were open" Then say I answered the phone didn't I, why don't you try using Google." At this point I was quite irritated and an other employee asked if I was finding everything ok. I said "yes, but I don't think I am going to buy anything now because I cant stomach this guys attitude." I asked John if he new about what is currently going on with closures. He said yes. Mind you he didn't look me in the eye the whole time. I asked him for his name. And told him he was responsible for the loss of a $200 sale. This is on a day when you are most likely not selling anything. "John" if that is his real name needs to learn some compassion for he has none. He is a grey haired man in his 50's I would guess. I don't think I can step back in this store. I will now shop at Indy RC and Raceway on...
