SEPHORA — Attraction in Indianapolis

I was really excited for my full-face appointment with Samantha, the only makeup artist at this location—but the experience was an absolute disaster from start to finish.

I showed her an inspiration photo before she began, but the eyeshadow she applied looked nothing like it. Even worse, the application was shockingly bad. It was creasing almost immediately, uneven, and patchy. Her only solution was to pile on more shadow.

Then came the foundation, which somehow managed to be even worse. The shade was completely off—at least two tones too dark and the base itself was patchy, streaky, and visibly peeling in multiple areas. It looked dry and textured, like it had been applied over flaking skin with no prep.

In the end, Samantha canceled the appointment herself, admitting it wasn’t working. To me, it was clear she lacked both the technique and experience to be offering professional...

It’s awesome not to have to venture through the chaos of a mall, be able to go straight in, and get what you need from this new-ish location! It’s a typical Sephora experience which I would say has never been bad, and there’s always help if you need it. They always have everything you need in stock too, which I appreciate. Very convenient spot.

Note to reviewers showing up seconds before closing and not being met with enthusiasm: anyone who’s worked retail/a customer facing job knows that this is a major faux pas. I’d place an order for pick up if there’s no way to plan ahead, and get there with ample time to shop in-store. People deserve to leave their jobs on time, please be more considerate of this and put yourself in...

I'm leaving this review in hopes that the store manager I interacted with yesterday will see this. I work right next to this store and I've been in the beauty industry (including being a general manager) for 17 years. I came in to treat myself for my birthday because I needed new skin products. The man running the store was doing nothing but complaining and talking about how horrible his employees were and that everyone and everything was filthy (it was not). It made me incredibly sad and I felt horrible for the employees. All the employees were wonderful, except for him. I'm surprised they even have anyone working under him.
