To say this location needs work is an understatement. I've lived in the area for 8 months and given this location numerous tries, but it always falls short. The first time, we ordered a 12 pack, 6 crunchy, 6 soft in the middle of the day on a Saturday. I understand it takes some time to get together, so we waited patiently, 30 minutes later our order comes out. No apology for the wait, no explanation, if I didn't have a house of teenagers waiting, I would've driven off and asked for my money back.
The second time I went was after a Pacers game. The line was pretty long, but moved quickly. I ordered three crunchy tacos and my partner ordered a Mexican pizza meal. Another 30 min wait for our order. Luckily, the food was hot and they threw in an extra taco, so I chalked it up to bad timing.
The following time it was midnight after pride. There was virtually no line, but the manager came out saying they were closing early for floor maintenance in the kitchen. This led to the TB closing 4 hours early! I've experienced plenty of TB's closing early for maintenance, most of them put a notice on the door and on the drive through, but not this one. No warning, orders were taken only for patrons to get to the window and find that their orders weren't going to be fulfilled.
My last and final time was tonight at 3 am, first the cashier was encouraging people to get out of line by saying they were fulfilling a big order and it would take several minutes. Many cars in front of us drove off. Nothing else was open, so we stuck it out. The order that was supposed to take 20 minutes, literally took 5 minutes. It felt as if the cashier just didn't want to serve the 5 cars in line. We ordered, the screen was correct and then when we got to the window, it all blew up. We ordered a Mexican pizza meal and a $5 nacho box with an order of nacho fries. The fries were freezing cold, not even lukewarm, the cheese cups were half filled and instead of nachos in a box (because they were out of physical boxes, which they didn't mentioned to us when ordering) they put the nacho toppings in a burrito and gave us a side of chips. That is NOT the same thing as a $5 nacho big box at all. Which is what I ordered. In addition, our crunchy tacos were soggy and the meat in them was cold. At first glance we told the cashier this wasn't out order, he insured us it was and after some back and forth wouldn't take our food back, so we drove off disappointed and still hungry.
I've given this TB four tries too many. I won't be doing so again. I'm contacting corporate. Hopefully they can fix the problem. I've gone to taco bells first thing in the morning, after SEC football games in college towns and after pro athelte football and basketball games, never have I waited so long for mediocre food and bad...
Read moreI pulled into the line with four other vehicles at 10:40 pm...I was told that the drive through was closed because the system was down and it would be down for about an hour. When I asked for a manager a male came on stateing his name was Erin Johnson. I asked why all of the signs were on if they were closed. He said they were automatic and he couldn't turn them off. I asked why he could not write down my order and satisfy my request. He asked if I was paying cash. If I was paying cash they didn't need the system? This sounds like stealing scams to me. I said I had my credit card. He said he couldn't ring up my order without the system. I asked for the corporate number since the hours were posted as open and no other signs were posted claiming system failure or emergencies. I watched several cars come and go, it looked like there were staff in the parking lot maybe engaging in illegal activities... smoking pot rather than serving their customers. I went to the next taco bell at 86th street, who was under construction but still very pleasent and to my surprise the drive through system was fully operational!? The staff there stated that the other store were not being honest as there where no reports of any system failures. That they would be delighted to take my order and give me great service too! Also thanked me for giving them a heads up as to why they were being unusually pummeled with business. I returned to this location to see if they decided to post notice that they were not open during the posted business hours. By then it was 11:20 pm. To my surprise they were then taking orders. When I brought up the fact that they were closed and repeated my experience, he asked me to pull to the window. He told me he had just gotten there at 11 pm and had no idea this had happened. That this is good information to have as nightly sales were greatly reduced and that there was now a good understanding as to why this is happening. I will be contacting someone to inform them that the entire shift had to be aware this was going on and there was a mouthy defensive woman that tried interrupting supposed manager Erin Johnson which I was informed at my return that there was no manager or staff member by that name. The friendly employee said the manager on duty was Stephany at that time that he had just started his shift at 11pm. Which she did not step out of the office to even speak for herself. Please if you are looking for a job, clearly they need the help. If I were the franchisee, they would all be gone other than the one nice guy with all the info....
Read moreI’ve never been to a fast food restaurant where I am questioned about what the amount of food I (or other customers) am ordering ordering and why. I’ve i’ve tried to give this location the benefit of the doubt several times only to be disappointed more and more each time.
The first time I went I ordered a taco 12 pack and waited 35 minutes. The second time I went it was OK. The third time I went the store closed four hours early and the only way I (and others) found out was because an employee was standing outside of the restaurant directing people away from the location.
The most recent time I went my order was completely destroyed — everything was wrong. The employee instructed me to combine the burrito insides with nachos to make the five dollar box. The nacho fries were pulled out of the refrigerator, they had no heat to them. The chips and cheese was cold. Taco meat was cold.
As someone who lives in the neighborhood, this Taco Bell is utterly disappointing. The culture of the management of this store needs to be change from the top. I have never been more disappointed in a Taco Bell than I have by this location. I highly encourage people not to go to this Taco Bell — there are better locations within 10 minutes. I will never order anything from this...
