Panera Bread — Restaurant in Indianapolis

*Update: I keep trying to get food here because I love the food but the last five or six times that I have gone here, they asked at the drive-thru if I have a pickup order and when I say no, they tell me that it is a 20 to 30 minute wait. There is no one in front of me in the Drive-Thru and there's no one behind me and there's only a handful of cars in their parking lot. So what's the issue? I go to Panera all over the place and I don't have this issue anywhere else but this specific location.

*I used to go here all of the time and then suddenly, their drive thru was no longer a thing. Months went by and still no drive thru. They put one of the pickup parking signs in the drive thru so you couldn't get to the speaker but no explanation as to why it was closed. Went by the other day and saw the sign wasn't blocking the drive thru so I cheered and went up to the speaker... someone immediately came on and said the drive thru was down and that I could come inside... I don't want to go inside and be around people which is why I use the drive thru. Couple days later, I decide to order curbside pickup before leaving work so I could swing by, grab the food and be on my way and still avoid being around a bunch of people. Placed the order and got a notification my order was ready like 5 minutes later. Got to the restaurant like 5 minutes after that, got on the app and followed the instructions to tell them I was there and which spot I was parked in and then... nothing. 5 minutes go by, then 10. Seriously... My desire to not be around people is strong so I call their number and say hey, I'm here. Been here for over 10 minutes... Can I have my order please? The lady says oh yeah, our system didn't notify us that you were here. Well, I did it and then I tried to do it again and it wouldn't let me cause I already did it so... sounds like a you problem except you have my food so now its my problem. This location used to be great but now there is no drive thru, the curbside delivery is broken and when I've ordered delivery from here, their delivery driver left my order in the rain rather than the bin I put on the porch for them to put the bag in even though I left those exact instructions when I placed the order. I don't know what is going on here but seriously, get your act together. I have already decided not to come back to this location even though its right by my house because this is clearly a one sided relationship... I love you but you don't love me back. Horrible experience at this location. Ordered "Rapid Pick-up" with a Pick up time given if 1:58pm. I arrive at 2:05pm to find the drive thru temporarily closed, a parking lot full of cars and a store full of people (10-15 ppl) clumped up between the order counter and food receipt counter...waiting. Some people even waiting outside for their food. I squeeze through to get to the Rapid Pick-up shelf only to find it empty. I ask about my order and I'm told that "it probably hasn't come thru yet because they are backed up with orders". Hasn't come thru? My app provided confirmation that it "went thru." Oh, you mean, you guys haven't started it yet. So, I ask the young lady how long it might be before they can start on it. She says 10-15 mins! What? Then she says "check back in 20 mins."

25 mins later...I walk back in. AGAIN it isn't on the shelf! Now I'm super frustrated. I wait 2 mins by the shelf to see if the order the cashier is bagging is mine. (All I ordered was 3 bowls of soup & Half of a salad for goodness sake. How long can that take???) Nope. She comes over and places someone else's order on the shelf. I inquire again about the order status and I'm told "they are finishing it up now". 32 mins AFTER the promised time, I am handed my bag.

As if that crazy wait wasn't enough, I get home and there are missing items - they only put 2 baguettes in the bag instead of 3, the packing was hasty - 2 of the 3 Bowls of soup have drip marks down the side and the absolute WORST...my $11 salad is entirely filled with BROWN LETTUCE! I was livid. This used to be one of my go-to Panera locations pre-pandemic, so was did not expect such a poor experience after 1.5 years, but this was unacceptable. THE worst!! Waste of time, waste of money... Never will I return to this...

This store is absolutely horrible! Every single time I order food from here there’s always an issue. They’re either always out of food, understaffed so they close early or have terrible customer service. Today I placed an order through the app, I selected to pickup my food through the drive thru. I placed the order at 6:14 pm. Got an email confirmation stating my order would be ready for pickup at 6:24 pm. I was coming from the opposite side of town so it took me longer to get to the store. I arrived at the store at 7:08 pm. I pulled up to the drive thru, told them I had a mobile order and gave them my name. They said they didn’t have my order and that I may be at the wrong store. I doubled checked my order confirmation email and confirmed that I was at the correct store. The person taking orders at the drive thru window asked if I could come into the store. I showed the manager my order confirmation email. The manager asked me what time did I place the order. I told her I placed the order at 6:14 pm and the order was supposed to be ready at 6:24 pm. I got another email at 6:25 pm stating my order was running behind and then another email at 6:32 pm stating my order was ready for pickup. I showed the manager all 3 emails I received. The manager then asked me, “what time is it now?” I stated it’s 7:14 pm she then asks me “well why didn’t you come at 6:20?” I had to wait another 10 minutes to get my food. I only come to this store because it’s the closest to my home but from now on I’ll just have to drive further out. Customer service here...
