I'm sure the price was fair for the market but we were a little surprised by the low bang for the buck. The pictures on the website tell one story, the experience tells another. It's a matter of details. As soon as we opened the door the musty smell hits you like a surprise left hook. And the air, though cool, felt muggy not dry like you would expect (more on this below). The kitchen and living area were nice and well appointed. There was plenty of silverware and plates. And I appreciated the desk as I did have to do some work. The view and proximity to the beach was also very good. However, it was not all unicorns and rainbows. Note to Vacasa: spend a little extra and provide a couple of premium rolls of both paper towels and toilet paper. And maybe provide more than the free Samsung TV (streaming apps are available too) A little goes a long way when forming impressions. It just gave off a "we are cheap and we're not trying to hide it" vibe. Also, ever heard of a Kureig? They're pretty popular and would be a very welcomed addition. Moving on...the fan in the bathroom didn't work. One of the towel bars was not affixed and threatened to fall off the wall if you so much as looked at it wrong. We would have called maintenance, however the second day we were there, we requested a second remote because there was only one for the living room and bedroom TV. The front office said they would let maintenance know and we never heard back so we didn't even bother with the other things. Customer service needs some work. On our last day maintenance did call us to come look at possible water damage the owner had noticed BEFORE we arrived four days prior. The wall next to the door was warped and had definitely gotten wet and we suspect that was the reason the room felt muggy during our entire stay. And prepare to live out of your luggage. There is just enough storage for 1 person. That's it. We booked this close to when we were wanting to stay and there wasn't much available in the area. Next time we will not make the same mistake and look at alternatives that give us...
Read moreWe stayed in unit 224, (2nd floor, right in the middle). On the plus side, the view was directly towards the Ocean. On the downside, the middle rooms are farthest from the ocean. As another reviewer commented, this facility is old, on the order of 40 to 60 years. It has seen better days! The floor is warped, even the wall was warped, (looked like water damage from an upstairs unit). The unit was decorated very nicely, fresh paint, beach decor (of course), however those are things that look good in the sales pictures for the website. Upon arrival, you see the deeper picture, like a moldy shower curtain, very worn floor mats & rugs, sand everywhere, (& even though it is a beach location, it can be cleaned properly). On a positive note, the AC did a VERY good job of keeping the room cool. Along with the ceiling fans, at times I actually felt cold. The cable channel selection left a bit to be desired, (& I realize that is not the point of renting a room at the beach). The appliances were new, & worked well. Internet worked well & speed test showed 24.5mb. Not bad at all for a rental property. Beach access, private pier access, private pool access, can't be beat. As with any rental or hotel stay, the fellow tenants can be noisy (to say the least, I almost...
Read moreI am normally very very, very slow to leave a negative review. Been coming here for years Due to convenience of access to the beach. My reason for a less than great review is parking. Not the cost of parking, mind you. There is parking at the municipality lot for a second vehicle, the issue is stopping whatever you’re doing, wherever you are, to be sure to feed the meter on time. (Got a ticket last visit, another inconvenience) A simple fix would be a multi day purchase in the municipality lot. Found out after multiple calls to the police department that we can buy an annual pass, but it has to be done ahead of time online only and can’t be done on the spot, which means days of delay. Iop.net says it can be purchased on the spot....so it’s a goose chase. So risk the ticket if getting to the kiosk is not possible, or pay for an extra room to get a spot, $800. Easy fix IOP. How about it? Make the muni lot multi-day payable. Sea cabins, we want to give you our money to stay there...you can enact change with the local government. (You pay them an enormous amount in taxes, surely, they will oblige this small adjustment. Surprised this is an issue that hasn’t been addressed...
