Batteries Plus Phone Repair — Attraction in Jackson Township

My Samsung Galaxy S8 is just over a year old. It just turned off and was totally dead. It wouldn't charge and none of the on-line suggestions worked. Verizon couldn't help except to sell me another phone, plus I still owed $138 on this one. Best Buy didn't have any options either. So I went to Batteries Plus Bulbs on Stringtown road. They checked it and felt it was most likely the battery. The said they could replace the battery in an hour and if that didn't fix it they would only charge a $25 fee. That seemed worth trying if it would save me from spending $938 for a new phone. An hour later I stopped back to find my phone working like new. My daughter dropped her phone (galaxy s8+) and shattered the screen. I first took it to Geek Squad who told me that they could replace it for $250. After taking it in back for a couple of minutes, the guy comes back and tells me that samsung would not allow them to fix it because it showed signs of water damage and corrosion in the charging port and the screen damage was " extraneous". They recommended that we just get a new phone (which they conveniently sell). I needed it fixed quickly because she was home from college for the weekend and I got the feeling he was not being honest with me and playing on what he thought was my desperation. I left and brought it to Batteries + Bulbs who had the screen replaced in less than 2 hours and who confirmed my suspicions: there was no evidence of water damage internally and he even showed me her charging port and told me it was perfectly clean.
