Edit. 5 months after ordering, I still have not received my full order. They continue to “schedule” a delivery date, and then call the day before to say that they still don’t have my furniture in stock. Forever blaming it on the vendor. My order has been rescheduled SIX TIMES. Nobody answers the phone at the store. They let it ring until the line hangs itself up. Today when I was called to be informed that I wouldn’t be receiving my order tomorrow, I requested to talk to a manager and was told that “they’re in a meeting” and couldn’t guarantee a call back before close of business. I can no longer get a hold of my salesman, Ralph. I have been given the runaround with zero solution to the problem. I have been paying for this furniture since March. Nobody is apologetic. We have taken off work six times to be there for our delivery, since they can ONLY deliver to us on Thursdays. The last time my husband spoke to Ralph, when our June delivery had to be rescheduled, he said that if the furniture needed to be rescheduled again, that we would be requesting a refund and taking our business elsewhere. On July 16th, I received confirmation for my delivery scheduled for July 18th. So, we got rid of our previous furniture. Upon arrival of the delivery men, they only had our loveseat. The couch was supposed to be delivered tomorrow, August 8th. Rescheduled. I’m sick of this and sick of fighting with these people. Do not buy here.
I was initially requested to leave a review while in store during the original transaction. I’m sure because they know they would never get a good review if customers waited until they actually received their order.
Original review. Ralph was absolutely incredible to work with. So friendly and helpful. Very personable. The store has an amazing selection to cover the wants, needs, and financial situations for most everyone. Will definitely be back...
Read moreMy furniture was to arrive on Saturday. Finally at 430 I finally called them to find out they rescheduled it that morning but didn’t notify me. The lady on the phone was very kind, she said someone would contact me about a cost adjustment, but no one ever called. Spent 3 days with no furniture. Tuesday only 2 of the 3 pieces I ordered arrived, they forgot the connecting piece. Thursday the third piece was delivered. I wasn’t here when it was delivered, but quickly noticed the legs were not put on straight. I wasn’t going to bother with the bad review, but a week later as I sit here looking at this leg sticking out from under my couch, it keeps bringing it all back to me. First and last time I’ll use value city. UPDATE: after writing this review, value city reached out to me by phone and email. The email offered to have someone come out and fix the leg. They also offered to refund my delivery fee of $99 and an additional $150 for my troubles. I replied that I would decline them coming back out, but was agreeable to the money. I didn’t get a response. After about a week I called. She was very nice and apologetic, but this time only offered me the repair and $200 as long as I agreed to delete this review. I hesitated but agreed. Soon after we got off the phone, she sent me an email with an 800 number to contact customer service for the refund because they did not have my card on file. I gave it some thought and I’ve decided they can keep their money and I will leave my review up. There were just so many things wrong with this entire experience, I’m not going to add a dreadful call to a customer service hotline. Read moreOn July 18 I purchased a dresser and two night stands from the canton Ohio location which they delivered the two night stands on the 31st damage and full of scratches. I reached out the same day sent email to justyce Smith with email proof and was told someone will come to replace the night stand which no one did. I then received another called after several visit to the store saying the manager himself will come to replace on August 26. no call no show. I tried calling and got through to customer service at after 3pm who then tried to call the store no respond and also told me she did not see any schedule pick or drop off for me!. After several called Laura who was very disrespectful called back arguing that she just got a note on her desk after 4pm because the driver called off from morning and they cannot come out until Saturday to pick up the damage night stands and not sure of a date for a replacement. I am so disappointed I request a cancellation only to have Laura proceeded to argue with me on my decision. I will update my review with this matter because I am awaiting my refund and for value city canton to retrieve these scratched/ damaged night stands. I would not recommend no one to do business here, the customer services is insolent and you are treated like trash. I only gave a star because there is no option for none. Ps: this is my second bad experience…..I am so distraught because it’s a birthday gift.
Update as of September 7, 2025. August 30th the truck came to return the damaged night stand and since then I have not heard from value city. I am still waiting on my refund and I have reported the matter legally. I have attached an updated photo of the night...
