Bob Evans — Restaurant in Jackson Township

Bob Evans has been our go-to for years, has good prices and food with a homey feeling. We were patient with the early covid hours and not having eggs for my salad. We particularly liked this location bc the food is made well and the place is clean. Typically we have enjoyed the service. But the last two times the new servers have been extremely weird and rude. The one girl had a social anxiety. That was odd but okay. This time, my 8 year son got a stomach ache after eating and had to run to the bathroom twice but the girls were trying to clean the bathroom and got mouthy at his dad,especially the second time when all all he did was peak his head in to see if my son was okay. Then they told our waiter, who said "some men are so stupid." U can imagine his dad was furious. He didn't want to leave a tip. I did without realizing our server was the one that called him stupid. A solution..the men clean the male bathroom, or let dad check on kid...we obviously didn't mind a girl being with him, or leave the bathroom and clean later...but don't make ur customers go home with a stomach ache, especially a child. I hope they train these employees better or get new...

Went to eat dinner on a Sunday evening around 5:30pm. The restaurant was very cold and the waiter said they were trying to figure out why. I teased about them not paying the gas bill. My wife and I each had soup and I also had a sandwich. The waiter offered rolls, biscuits, or banana bread too. The food came and nothing was hot. The rolls were not even warm and the soup and sandwich were just warm. The sandwich came with gravy and it was barely warm. My vegetable soup was tasty but consisted of just corn and potatoes in a tomato broth. I admit I did see one quarter of a small green bean there too. The waiter did his best. We did not complain…just ate and quickly left for the warmth of our car. The cashier was polite but appeared frustrated because there was no change in the cash drawer. He sighed and looked for assistance to give me my change then got a few coins from another register. I was disappointed and...

Waited at least 20 minutes after being seated before a waitress showed up. (I was about to just get up and walk out just before she arrived.) My friend and I ordered coffee, and when she returned we each ordered the apple pie, which, according to the menu was supposed to come with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with caramel sauce. 10 minutes later she finally shows up with the pie, stating she couldn't find it. When my friend questioned the presentation of the pie, with nothing else, she says "Oh, did you want it ala mode? My friend pointed out how it was listed in the menu, and she left and came back with ice cream sans caramel drizzle. Coffee and pie should not take this much time in a restaurant that wasn't even remotely close to being busy. To be fair, I've never had an experience like this at any Bob Evans before, not even this one. The next time I go out for dessert, it definitely...
