So let me first start by saying I travel a lot for work and spend my free time on the road hunting down bourbon it’s a passion of mine and I enjoy the experience of talking to store associates and owners who share my passion for bourbon and while in the Joliet area I stopped into 3 or 4 different binnys locations all of the other stores had very friendly staff who talked to me about their barrel program and the different bourbon they had in stock but upon entering the new Joliet location I was greeted with glaring eyes and not so friendly faces so I began looking through the isles when I spotted another customer talking to who I assumed was the manager and with a new bottle of blantons in his cart. Once their conversation ended I started to approach the manager who had noticed I was waiting to speak to him he quickly rushed off and told me he was heading to his break so I simply asked him if I could also get one of the blantons bottles I seen the other customer with to which I was given a very rude reply of “we don’t have any” and so the point I’m trying to make here is I was prepared to spend a lot of money in this store on something I enjoy but I am not friends with any of the store associates there for I’m just told the allocated bourbon is non existent which happens a lot I understand that’s the industry now a days but such a simple thing as doing your job and making a sale just lost you a customer who spends a lot of time in the area buying a lot of bourbon needless to say I’ve made 2-3 more stops into the store since then in the last week and have been treated exactly...
Read moreI only buy beer or liquor here when the sales are the best price. But there is 1 cashier, an older woman, that is SO RUDE, and I will avoid this place if that's all they have at an open register like they had today, at 3:03p, July 5th 2024 (hope a manager looks up who she was. Working at that time). She needs to get trained to provide nicer customer service. This is the 3rd time I have had an interaction with her and she is awful.
I asked her for extra protection for a large glass bottle and she couldn't have been more curt about her actions of grabbing a green sleeve and shoving it into my hand. It's as if I was the biggest inconvenience in her life.
It's her JOB. And she is not performing it well. I wouldn't normally leave a review just because of poor customer service, but this is a pattern that should be broken...
Read moreIf you want a store where people who actually know their alcohols work together with you to suggest you what it is you seek then go to Binny's...most wine or liquor stores hire people who know how to punch the keys on a register but once you ask them about the actual product they themselves sell....they usually dont know shi* and that to me is a huge turn off because it tells me there is nothing special about that kind of store it's a dime a dozen...I walked into Binnys and asked for wines which I did not know too much about and this woman helped me to find precisely the kind of wine I wanted after I explained to her and she was patient and made me feel like I want to come back. That's called...
