We enjoy exploring lighthouses wherever we go, and we happen to be meeting friends in Jupiter, Florida. They told us about the lighthouse and we definitely had to explore it. Before you enter, they have a plaque that tells you all about the lighthouse. The landscaping is gorgeous very well. Kept the atmosphere was jovial. People were smiling and happy. There was plenty of parking places to sit before or after you visited the lighthouse. as we entered the lighthouse, we discovered that the steps were pretty small and narrow, and it took us forever to get to the top. There was periodic spots where we could stop and rest and also to let other people go down as we were going up. The view from the windows was fabulous . You could see boats and people fishing swimming and having a good time. The sun was shining and the temperature inside the lighthouse was not bad. It was actually comfortable. But the steps, if you have bad knees or bad hips, you might want to reconsider going up them. we made it to the top and we were able to view a magnificent scenery of the entire area. The water was a beautiful color blue and looked very inviting. We were tired when we got to the top, but there was a gentleman up there who I guess was an employee, explained everything about the lighthouse and how it works, and it was pretty fascinating too. I was able to touch a glass mirror, which was the first time I’ve ever done that, and found it very exhilarating to know the history of the thousands of ships that depended on that light to guide them safely. By the time we made it down to the bottom of the lighthouse, our legs were shaking. But, it was great exercise! There were vendors where we could enjoy a cool beverage and snacks. Very well worth the visit. The beach wasn’t far, but that’s another review. I highly recommend you take some time to visit the Jupiter lighthouse. You won’t regret it!

My first trip to the area! Parking lot was a bit busy due to soccer games going on nearby but there was still parking available near the lighthouse entrance. Entrance fee is fair. I was there for around 2 hours and got there right when they opened. It wasn't busy at all, maybe 3 other groups when I arrived. I explored the entire property. I climbed the lighthouse twice and spoke with Bob at the top who shared fun knowledge about the surrounding area. He was a pleasure to talk with and I loved that he offers to take your picture on your phone. I'm always solo so I never get a picture of myself that isn't a selfie. I was very thankful for this! Next, I went into the educational workshop. I love to learn about the history of places I'm visiting. I also went and toured the Tindall Pioneer Homestead and spoke with Melanie who is wonderfully amazing. You can tell that she really loves what she does and I felt so happy after speaking with her. She is so knowledgeable about the area and the history of the home. I told her that it smelled like my grandparents house and even spotted some items that I've seen at their house so that made my heart even happier. Since it was my first time in the area, Melanie recommended a few places for me to go. I was able to go to one but now have an excuse to come back to go to the others! If you love learning about the history of the area and just history in general, I recommend stopping by and talking with Melanie, if she is there. I'd go back just to chat with her more. She is an absolute treasure! Overall, I had a wonderful time!

Wow is this place awesome, I could not more highly recommend! Going up into the lighthouse is so rad. You are still currently required to wear a mask the whole time, so I was a little worried that it would be absolutely miserable and I would feel like I’m dying a little bit. But, it actually wasn’t too bad climbing up to the top! And they take groups of around 15 people at a time, so you can rest if you want to and you won’t get in anyone’s way. And the view at the top- holy cow, so cool!! Just absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing, there’s something so different about being able to stand at the top of such a large, cool, historic structure and see all around you for miles and miles. There are a lot of other little houses and parts of the museum as well where you can read more about this lighthouse and area. I found it so fascinating how Jupiter used to literally be no mans land out in the middle of nowhere and to then think of what it’s become today, it’s pretty crazy. Such a gorgeous little area, it’s even nice just to sit in the gardens and enjoy the day, definitely come here if you have the chance! It’s an experience not like many others! (They do also have a small gift shop and bathrooms near the lighthouse)

It looks like a great place to visit. The history behind it alone is worth the stop. I might give it 5 stars one day, but couldn't do the actual lighthouse or museum this time. Traveling with a Vietnam Veteran companion that is currently weakened by cancer/chemo and climbing 32 steps to the first level would be risky enough and impossible to even attempt the other 105 steps to the top! Be aware that this lighthouse, which turned 159 years old the day we were there, does not have any accommodations for the less than capable traveler, so plan your stop accordingly. The admission prices are reasonable, but we opted out since we would have to pay full admission to even get close enough to it to look at the outside (it is fenced in with lots of trees surrounding with a guard of sorts) or even go into the museum to see what that has to offer. There's actually a better view of the outside from the road than on property unless you pay to pass the gate. All in all, it is more than likely worth a stop if you are capable of making the walk and climbing all the steps.

A wonderful experience! I had the incredible privilege of receiving a one on one tour with Frank, as no one else had shown up for the guided tour at that time. He was absolutely wonderful, the tour itself was very educational, and I can certainly say I'll never misidentify a coffeeberry, sea grape, or cocoplum after today! The lighthouse itself was beautiful, and while climb times may vary, you can honestly make it to the top in less than five minutes, even while stopping at each of the landings. The view and breeze were refreshing, and just getting to glimpse the fresnel lens itself made every step worth it! I highly recommend checking out the Keeper's workshop after the climb down, as the air conditioning really helps in this heat (plus, the exhibit is lovely, and the display and artifacts are fascinating to read about). Honestly, everyone I met who was working that day was very friendly and helpful. If you have some spare time in Jupiter, please check out this historic gem!

The Jupiter Inlet Naval Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the area’s maritime and military history. Housed on the historic grounds near the iconic lighthouse, the museum focuses on the strategic importance of the location, particularly during World War II. Visitors can explore exhibits that highlight the role the site played as part of the U.S. Navy’s communication operations. Artifacts displayed provide insights into the naval activity that took place in this region, including intriguing stories of secret wartime missions. The museum also showcases the daily lives of the servicemen and women stationed there with stories and period photographs. Expert staff are on hand to enrich the visit with detailed explanations and storytelling, bringing a deeper understanding of the site’s military significance. The Naval Museum is an engaging and educational experience, offering a unique perspective on the strategic maritime past of the area.
