I am utterly disappointed with the unprofessionalism exhibited by this tour company. Four days ago, I went ahead and booked the 12:00 PM tour, excitedly anticipating an enjoyable experience. However, my excitement was short-lived as I received a call/text this morning at 9:00 AM, three hours before our scheduled tour, informing me that they needed to cancel our reservation. The reason? Apparently, there were only two of us booked for the 12PM trip.
This last-minute cancellation left me and my companions in a state of shock and dismay. Planning a trip involves careful consideration of various factors, and I had invested both time and anticipation in this experience. The abrupt cancellation not only disrupted our plans but also showcased a complete lack of professionalism on the part of the tour company.
It's deeply frustrating to have been treated with such disregard after having made an effort to schedule the tour well in advance. This incident not only affected our day but also cast a shadow of doubt over the reliability and credibility of this tour company. As customers, we deserve to be treated with respect and consideration, and unfortunately, that was not the case here.
I hope that this review serves as a warning to potential customers who are considering using this tour company's services. The unprofessional conduct and the casual approach to cancellations make it difficult to trust them with creating a memorable and dependable experience.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against engaging with this tour company. The abrupt cancellation of our reservation and the lack of consideration for their customers' time and expectations highlight a disheartening level of unprofessionalism that should not be tolerated. It's important for businesses to uphold their commitments and treat their customers with the respect...
Read moreWe went on a family trip and booked the zip line tour through Shaka. When we arrived, they weighed us and my son was under the limit. We were bummed out but the person working the front desk was kind and told us she would put in the notes the details and help us get the refund for the event (booked through a 3rd party). She seemed super helpful and willing to help us get a refund. Several months later we found out we weren’t eligible for the refund and paid the full amount… no big deal, but when I read the report this is what Shaka Zipline sent to the chargeback team.
“ This client is not due back a refund. Attached to this email is a copy of her booking. There are also many other correspondences that you can pull through the Viator app of where she called in. This client booked a party of 3 and one child did not meet the weight requirement. The weight requirements are clearly stated in the booking information. They are also on our website. The child did not meet the weight requirement and the whole party refused to go. They did not contact us within the 24 hour cancellation period to get a refund. This party did show up to attend the activity but did not go on the activity.
In a side note, this customer was extremely rude, cussed at my reservation staff multiple times and was not pleasant to deal with. Please dispute this charge and fight to get the money back.”
I was blown away when I saw the last paragraph. Not once did my wife cuss or act rude as we were working through the situation.
This is extremely unethical and unprofessional on Shaka Zipline.

Read moreI went last week with my sibling for the 8-line and unfortunately it was a bit cloudy and it was drizzling but that is to be expected at this time of year in Kauai. The weather didn’t dampen the experience, we got wet with some mud but the guides (Don & Jen) definitely helped us forget about the weather. They helped us put on/take off our gear, they hooked/unhooked us to the zip line, answered any questions we had, gave us helpful tips, reminded us about what to do vs what not to do for our safety, played music to help us ease our nerves, and just kept the good vibes going with conversation and jokes. On the way back they let us know what other places to visit in terms of activities and what local places to eat at. Some of us did get stuck 3/4 of the way through the zipline (for the longer 2 ziplines) but thanks to our guides, we were able to make it through just fine. The mist did make the mountains look extra cool so don’t let a little rain discourage you from going ziplining. Know that if the clouds are hanging too low, the guides may cancel the tour for your safety, though I wouldn’t know what their weather cancellation policy looks like. Anyhow, it was my first time going ziplining but it certainly won’t be my last.
Overall I had a great time and I’ll definitely come back here if I visit Kauai again...
