I would absolutely recommend going with Adventure Karts when picking a tour in Ketchikan. They have a very friendly staff that are super knowledgeable about the area. Liz was super easy to find on the dock! She was be-bopping around with the sign, making it super easy to find, as well as hyping us up on the adventure of a lifetime that we were about to go on.
Once we got out to Adventure Karts, we had a blast. We did have to watch the safety video twice, which was alright but felt overstated and disingenuous when you watch it more than one time (I feel for the employees that have to watch it multiple times a day, day in and day out). Then we got to go drive the Karts, and it was so fun! I'm glad that we went on a day where it had rained the previous night. There were so many puddles and potholes, and we definitely got super muddy! It was a blast! Laughing and big smiles all around. Our guide Sam knew so much about the area, it was crazy! He had so many fun stories to tell about being in the wilderness! I did get a little hungry on the trail, so make sure to bring snacks if you plan on going on...
Read moreExcursion was suppose to be 3 hrs and half. After safety briefing, picking out our gear we headed out. Rode a dirt road whole way no wooded trails oh I take that back we did a 3 second horse shoe trail 🤣. I own my own side by side this was not worth $199. We rode maybe 45 mins tops. Took longer for safety briefing and picking out gear and talks at the 2 stops and the bus ride there and back then we did riding. Was very dissatisfied with this excursion. Video and pictures are misleading. I would say only worth $100 that's pushing it. If you have never rode in a side by side you will probably like it but if you own your own don't waste your money. Carts don't have power steering they were constantly back firing. The guy taking our pictures and video acted like he hated his job and didn't wanna be there at all you could see it on his face. The girl who was our guide had alot of local culture info but I came to ride not get a local culture lesson. Wouldn't recommend it if you already have your own...
Read moreWe did the Kart 'adventure. ' I do not recommend this excursion! The two young gals as guides were talkative drug out the ride. The pitstops were less than average few photos, especially compared to the rest of Alaska! Also, they tell you in the safety speech that the road is full of pot holes but to hit every one, do not swerve, stay in the middle of the road, or you will be asked to not drive! Well.. I was following the driver in front of me, swerved multiple deep holes many times, then the guides pulled the whole group over to make me switch drivers with my passenger... but not the kart driver I was following. Also, we were 15 minutes late getting back to the city, giving us less time to do anything else because this was only a very short port stop to begin with. All in all, for the money I paid, I did not expect to be scolded, look at a trickle you call a falls, and learn about plants. It was supposed to be a...
