I've eaten at the Pizza Mill twice now they have a very diverse menu, sort of part pizza, part Philippine, part Chinese, part burger place...they're really just all over the place. This is great for when you want Chinese take out instead of plain ol pizza, and vise versa!
I think being all over the place has a lot of disadvantages though and it shows here. I feel like quality really suffers when a place cant focus on one cuisine. Because theyre so unfocused, they are really hit or miss.
The classic pizzas are good but the specialties might not be super fresh, I had a chicken and veggie pizza that tasted like some of the vegetables had gone bad, but my husbands more classic pizza tasted just fine. This leads me to believe that some menu items are just not ordered enough to maintain a constant rotation of fresh ingredients. The chicken on my pizza was also incredibly dry, almost inedible.
The second time I ordered I got the Kare-kare and an order of lumpia. The kare-kare just needed a little salt, but it was otherwise really delicious! The beef was incredibly tender, there was a good amount of veggies, and the sauce was flavorful. The rice was disgusting, totally inedible. It was so mushy and starchy that when I mixed it with the peanut sauce from the kare-kare, it took on the consistency of school paste. I dont think they rinse their rice before they cook it. The lumpia was disappointing because it wasn't lumpia. I'm not sure if they got my order wrong, or if they think lumpia is the same as an egg roll, what I got was a decent egg roll, but definitely not lumpia.
Both times my food took an hour to arrive, which is a bit much...they could work on delivery time.
Over all, I've been pretty consistently disappointed in the food, but not everything has been bad. They're just too unfocused to be good at every...
Read moreWe started travelling at 5 AM. We were hungry, and the menu looked amazing. We love Philipino food and love pizza. I have eaten all over the world. And especially love the food from Philippines. We ordered alot, and a large pizza too, for later. Biggest food mistake in my life. The food was possibly the worst Ive ever paid for, in any country. The young man who delivered it to our hotel was nice. We should have opened and looked at things before he left. Not one thing was good. We wasted 150 dollars! I rarely get into Ketchikan, and for sure will tell people about this experience. It was embarrassing that anyone would let this out of their door. The pizza was terrible. Not even one whole slice was able to be eaten. We had hoped to have some leftovers, for breakfast before our plane leaves tomorrow morning. Its all in...
Read moreWe called for delivery and the lady could barely understand English and was somewhat rude. We waited an hour before we called back to check on our delivery-they said they were cooking it. After another hour(2hrs total) we called with no answer. We checked our bank account and the charges for or order have been applied. We decided to drive down(it was just before closing) walked in and asked about our order and they acted like they knew nothing about it & insisted that we were wrong and never placed an order with them. We demanded our money back which they gave in cash reluctantly and were rude about it. We will never order from there again and will also tell every...
