Great experience renting for the day here! Booked a few rentals for our group for one day. Such helpful and kind staff, a really pleasant experience, and a selection comparable to the local resorts for better prices. Definitely plan to return and would recommend! Book ahead online if you can just to be safe.

Out of a group of 6 people that rented from here 3 got bruises from their boots and couldn’t ski/snowboard anymore. Lost a whole day on the slopes because of their boots. After reading the comments I’m seeing other people had problems with their boots and broken equipment.

Went to return the equipment in the morning, they didn’t want to refund for the day.

From the comments I’m seeing I can confirm the following: limited choice of (old) equipment they literally refuse to refund anything no matter what rude staff at the counter

Go to other shops, they have better equipment and more to chose from.

Replying to the rude owner: boots were definitely not new, I did ask for newer ones to begin with, but I was told those were the best; they had mud and lots of scratches, and the technical person told me they look “dusty” because they were warn last season. So not sure how that’s called “new boots”. there were 2 groups renting from your place same day, me and my friend just arrived earlier than the rest. Since other ppl than me had the same problem, seems it was the boots after all. Never happened before with other boots.

Wished I paid $10 more at another shop than lose a full day on the track and have to go through reviews about bad services.

Also, thank you for your rude reply and confirming what myself and other people have...

I believe I suffered racially motivated discrimination at this shop from the owner.

There was a mixup while we were having lunch and someone took my wife’s skis. We waited next to where we had left them for a coulple of hours near an identical pair of skis rented from roots. We assumed (rightly so in the end) that the owner of those skis had accidentally taken my wife’s skis so we took those skis to roots in the hopes of returning all skis to their rightful owners.

The roots owner accused me of theft (while returning their skis to them). Eventually our skis were brought into roots and I went to pick them up. Owner explained the other people had accidentally picked ours up. When I pointed out the inconsistency he told me to get out of his shop.

So assumed theft for me and assumed mistake for the other party. I suspect this was done on the basis of race. In addition he was so rude.

Save yourself the hassle, there are 100 other rental shops on...

With Covid cases rising so fast (Dec 30, 2021), I politely asked the Tech to wear the mask that was around his neck right before he fitted us for our rentals. Everyone else in the store was masked. My daughter and I were about to rent 2 pairs of skis, boots, helmuts and BUY goggles. But he yelled at me and said it was HIS store and I can’t tell him what to do and he didn’t have to wear a mask. Then he said “I don’t think this is going to work out” as we had just sat down for the fitting. So we quickly left out the side door, and he mocked us about being cautious and made fun of us pretending he was an “Omicron monster” with strange facial impressions and hand gestures. I am not making this up! I will never go back to this store, ever. Conversely, we had a great experience right up the road at Basin Ski, where everyone was masked and super courteous and efficient, especially the Tech who waited on us (first ...
