I have done my son's birthday here for the last three years. We always have had a wonderful experience and they have been very understanding about allergies. This year on Oct 13 was not so great I asked the manager ahead of time to bring in a pizza and a snack for the two people that have severe gluten allergies. He said not a problem the day of the party I saw the two of them eating in the entrance way to the parking lot because they were hungry and they would not let then in with the food I told them come sit with the rest of us I already cleared it with the manager. The next thing you know the gentleman at the door came over and took the pretzels right out of her purse speaking very loudly that the two of them couldn't have it in there. I spoke with the gentleman and told him I cleared it with the manager last Thursday. So then when I asked to speak to the manager he then told me no he can't allow a bag of gluten free pretzels in there! Then compared me to another two people that came in with outside drinks and chips. Now first off we discussed this a week ago and itwas not a problem now he tells me that they can eat their pretzels in the snack bar and a hamburger or hot dog without the bun. Now this man has no idea what he is talking about if they ate the pretzels they would of been in the ER now maybe they could eat the hamburger or hot dog but ii neede to checkcthe ingredients to make sure there was no fillers or certain preservatives that they are both allergic to and he said they don't have the ingredients. I was embarrassed in front of my guest, she was upset that the emplyee felt he had the right to take it out of her purse, and i also see it very disrespectful to eat in front of my guests when they are hungry as well this being why I asked before I paid for the party now in the mean time my son is opening his presents while I'm talking about this incident with the manager. This man was arrogant and rude and Retorted back with this place is under new mangagement and rules. That's great! I will not be holding another party here and also recommend to anyone with severe allergies to not hold one here as well or eat before you come otherwise you will be eating in the parking lot! The skating is fun, but the staff didn't seem very happy and...
Read moreThis rink was very expensive and not very well maintained. They charged $9.00 at the door, even for my grandmother to get in and watch her great grandchildren skate. She is in her 70’s and obviously not skating. If you didn't bring your own skates, they charged you $2.00 (about normal price) to rent their skates. However, their skates need some extreme repair. The set I got had laces that only went half way up the boot, when I asked them for a new set of laces they handed me a set that was just as short. The staff acted like they couldn't be bothered to help me. I ended up having to tie a knot half way up the boot and then again at the top with another lace. The bottoms of the boot had no padding and felt like they were rotting. After skating around the ring a few times I felt a stabbing in bottom of my foot, when I took the skate off there where two bolt heads sticking out of the sole and stabbing me. The rink itself was ok, until something sticky got spilled on it and several people fell. Even when we reported it to the staff they did nothing about it. On top of all this, we happen to go on a “Glow Skate” night where in order to skate during “Glow Skates” you had to be wearing something that glowed, i.e. glow bracket. We were not informed of this until after we paid our admission, then once we purchased glow rings from their shop, they only did one more “Glow Skate” the rest of the night. It is a good thing I was only in town visiting because even if this was the only place in town to go have family fun, I wouldn't go if you paid me. Ultimately this place may be great if you have the money to spend and bring your own equipment, but they really need to take safety into...
Read moreI’m leaving this review to warn others, especially newer or intermediate skaters, about a serious safety issue at Skate Reflections in Kissimmee.
This was my first visit to Skate Reflections and I noticed the wooden rink floor is visibly warped down the center, and unfortunately, that’s the exact area where beginner and slower skaters are required to skate. As someone who considers myself an intermediate-level skater, I fell four separate times—each one hard—due to the uneven flooring. I have bruises to show for it.
Adding to the danger, the rink was dominated by SPEED skaters during my visit. As someone who’s not a beginner but not an expert either, I didn’t feel safe sharing the rink with people flying past me at high speeds. There was no clear structure or separation, and it felt like a collision waiting to happen. If speed skaters are going to use the floor so aggressively, there absolutely needs to be a designated SPEED skate night. Forcing regular skaters into the warped center while speed skaters loop the perimeter is a recipe for injuries.
This isn’t a hidden or subtle flaw. The warping is open and obvious to anyone looking. I wasn’t the only one having trouble navigating that area. It creates a hazardous situation for anyone not skating at full speed around the perimeter—and even then, it could be a catastrophe if someone veers into the center unexpectedly.
Until this issue is addressed, I cannot recommend this rink. I strongly urge management to repair or replace the damaged flooring before someone suffers more...
