La Quinta Valley Plaza — Attraction in La Quinta

I’m conflicted on what to write here. In general, I love this office. The staff are generally attentive and wonderful. Dr. Russell and Dr. McGowan are patient and caring when it comes to your concerns as a parent about your child. But this last experience with Dr. Nevin was not… great. He didn’t listen to my concerns about my 18 month old who is sick yet again after 2 bouts of ear infections and has mucus running out of his nose about potential sinusitis. Yes, I understand that is not generally something that occurs but upon research it is something that can develop and my son is clearly showing signs of that. Instead, he was focused on speech delays for him, despite the fact that I’m not concerned about that, have 2 other children who exhibited “speech delays” and were normal. Instead, he talked about how in medical families, these things are often missed, indicating instead that it is likely pointing to autism. Buddy, my kids hear 3 different languages at home and are boys. They develop more slowly. He just seemed to have his own agenda that he was trying to push without actually caring about what I as a parent care about and about the actual issue in front of us. The first time I saw Dr. Nevin when my oldest was born was a great experience. I just don’t know what happened yesterday— perhaps an off day? I don’t know. Dr. Nevin, Dr. McGowen and Dr. Russell answer all my questions and I love how knowledgeable they are.

Edit: staff is not the nicest and expect to wait long wait times

Edit again: Every time I come here I always wait a minimum of 2 hours. The first time they claimed short staffed, ok I get it but every single time for 2 years? There has to be a reason why they can’t keep a full staff. On my last visit here I took my son in for a routine sports physical. We saw Dr Moreno and it was the first time I’ve ever been disappointed with a Dr. I got greedy vibes from her, she just wanted to order test after test and recommend so many vaccines. It was excessive. Long story short she did not clear my son and sent a referral to a cardiologist because she wanted an EKG done, and proceeds to tell me the cardiologist may think everything’s fine and may not even do an EKG! So why in the world would you do a referral?! Dr. Moreno told me to call the cardiologist office the next day to schedule an appointment so I did, (better safe than sorry) come to find out I can’t even schedule an appointment until the cardiologist receives the referral which may take up to 7 business days! Dr. gave a very thorough explanation of pros/cons( Very Informative ) relating to the procedure, he was very attentive to what our questions & concerns were or might have been, once procedure was done, doc came in to check on baby in the time frame he stated in the beginning, office staff was very efficient & polite, & 5 days later our baby is doing great, healing well & Looks Good!!
