Jackson Plantation Historic Site — Attraction in Lake Jackson

Place had plenty of parking and a beautiful entrance. Cute little bridge with some historic information and the volunteer/ groups keeper was very helpful. The grounds had lots of songbirds and wonderful natural beauty. The Sugar Mill and Plantation ruins had many signs with information about the structure remains of what they were like before. It's rarely open, making it somewhat difficult to plan a visit. However, when I went a couple years ago it was a nice place to visit when I first got into town. It opened up a little bit of local history, if that's what you're interested in I'm sure...

It's a small area and it's only open 1 day a month. Pretty space. You can read more about it than there is to see. Free to go, so worth a visit if your already going to be in the area....
