One of my closest friends introduced me to Panera Bread on one of our lunch outings. I was very pleased and try to make it over every chance I get. She has since moved away but at Christmas occasionally sends me a PB giftcard. Well I've done pretty good on holding on to it. Today I was a bit under the weather. So I thought I'd order a sandwich and soup. Well when it came time to order. The driver got mixed up and went to the wrong apartment. I really dont blame the driver, but I'm very upset with the person who signed for it stating they were me and got a free sandwich and soup. Now I've on occasions had things delivered to me that weren't mine and have very politely pointed out that I am not the receiver. But it just really urks me when people think they're getting away with something. Sigh. Well I knew nothing about this till I called the restaurant and they enlightened me in what happened. The manager was nice and said they correct this and get me a new sandwich and soup as soon as they could. And they did. Want to say thank you and how sorry I am to Lake Jackson Panera Bread manager and the young man who delivered my food. You were very quick and kind and thank you so much for the sweet extras. You've made me a very happy and loyal returning customer. Thank you again. And to the person who got the free sandwich and soup. I hope you enjoyed it, and I forgive you. But also remember. What goes around,...
Read moreWhere to start? Broccoli cheese soup was ok, just ok. I also has the chicken salad w/ apples and what ever else they put in it. It was so thin on the sandwich, I almost didn't notice it. The kickers that helped this rating, the girl made a lap around the dining room with my food, tried to give it to someone else, I waved at her as she headed to the kitchen, about 8 feet away from me, and said miss. She told me she'd be back. She was. She walked by again got to the other side of the dining room and turned and looked at me, watching at her again. Oh I'm sorry it has the same number. What number? No one had numbers on their table or knew what table I was going to set. Then before I'm through the same young lady preceded to clean my table off, touch the bread on my plate moved out to put napkins on it. Then says are you through with this? I said no and I wasn't through with the bread. She says I'm sorry and carried the plate away., not even offering to replace the bread. I don't blame her, put management. Workers are only as good as they are managed, trained. Sure isn't the Panera it was the first couple of years with the tall black haired manager. She took care...
Read moreI've visited several PB's around town, but this review is for the location in Lake Jackson and for all locations in respect to one item.
I am obsessed with the Almond Croissant since it debuted. The first time I tried it it was flaky and crispy on the outside and almond buttery and perfect in the inside. My problem is that too many PB's sell these almost flattened. Mine was today.
I'm not sure if they are not proved long enough or what else could contribute to the "meh" consistency. The taste is fairly good but it does not taste like a croissant should in my mouth.
I have noticed the chocolate and plain croissants look big and crispy and delightful. Why does the almond croissant have to suffer?
This PB is nice and big. I had to wait a few minutes for someone to come to the front to help me and by that time like three more customers had walked in behind me. The lady was super nice, though, apologized and even gave me my drink free.
Next time I will take a pic of the croissant so you can see for your what I mean. OR....maybe Panera Bread can fix this problem and I will instead share a pic of a delight that should look as good...
