Wednesday, February 20 at approximately 11:30 PM. One of the black male employees working the shift threaten to fight me for unknown reasons. As I grabbed an energy drink from the fridge and saw there was no employees around. I searched the store looking for one until I found him and asked if I can purchase the drink. He stated I needed to return back to the front desk or we’re gonna have some problems in an aggressive manner. After explaining to him that I was confused as to why he was upset and what I did wrong, he stated I there are no issues unless I want there to be issues. I asked him what did that mean and he says you will find out. I explained to him that I am a police officer, and that I want no problems , he stated he does not care who I am using provocative language, and that I can get dealt with. I told him I don’t want to drink and left it on the floor and left to continue my workout. Throughout about 20 minutes he continue to approach me at the machines, taunting me and threatening me saying that we will have issues. I told him to back away and leave me alone, and he continue to return. Then asked to speak to the manager and he stated that I do not need to speak to the manager because he already did. I asked him where is he? And his answer was I don’t know and walks away. I began to search the gym for the last person. I saw him speak to who happened to be the manager and explain the situation. I contacted the local sheriffs office to report a harassment. Manager says he will speak to him. He is a negative impact on planet fitness and a disgusting image to have in front of customers. I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness for many years and never have. I met someone so disrespectful for no reason. He created a hostile environment, And I do not feel welcomed any longer to planet fitness. I’m done with this gym. Everyone has issues, but to bring it at work and put it on customers is disgusting. Read moreI called on Friday asking if I could have my cancellation fee waived. I was told to come in. I came today explaining that I'd like to cancel and get the fee waived. There were 4 people besides the rep standing around. One who was closely watching the entire exchange. Donna was talking to Glen about a customer. The rep, Amber, said that my last day is in October. I asked her about the waiver. She said I "should be good." She then said my card on file will be charged 82 dollars. Then Donna stepped in and when I asked about the next month, she said since it's after the 10th, they can't touch that bill and it will be charged. She also said that I have to pay the cancellation fee and asked when I called. I informed her it was Friday after 3. I explained the reason for me coming in person was not to get charged. I left after Donna confirmed that I'll still have to pay and Amber said that the cancellation email will be sent to my email. About 3 mns later, I get a call that I need to come back to sign if I wanted to proceed. That's when I learned of their names. Glen was very courteous and apologized for my inconvenience. Donna, however, was unpleasant. She made almost no eye contact, and according to her, "Amber is new", to which I replied that it's not an excuse, especially when you all knew she was new, and she had 4 other people standing near by who should have assisted. Why would you allow someone knew to handle a cancellation? Donna was dismissive and unpleasant. Not only she never smiled or apologize, she didn't bother to try and smooth the situation over. Planet fitness advertise $22.99 for a monthly membership, but in fact it’s a year membership, with a yearly $39 fee. Plus if you want to cancel it it’s another $58 bringing your yearly membership to $395.85 which means you’re actually paying $32.99 Per month.
This is a desperate attempt for a corporation to steal your money in their fine print when they should’ve been upfront when you signed up on the app Instead they telling you it’s only $22.99 a month and then having to find The extra fees in the fine print in the contract later. They also require you to come in person to cancel your membership or send them a letter in the mail, they refused to cancel your membership over the phone.
I feel this company should’ve been more transparent in their contract but you really have to dig deep and read into the fine print to find these extra fees.
Another thing I find disturbing is the clubs are not actually as clean and are very DRITY as I NEVER see ANY employees ever cleaning the facility just standing around chitchatting as multiple people use the gym’s facility, In fact they rely on the customer to clean the machines after each use with some kind of chemical that is not disclosed to the members. Therefore putting your health at risk due to the nondisclosures of the chemicals used.
Now they’re requiring me to go through extra procedure in order to take my complaint/review to address my concerns when they can plainly read it from here, which I feel absolutely nothing will change should I do so.
