South Bannock County Historical Center and Museum — Attraction in Lava Hot Springs

This is an adorable little museum with so much local history packed into it. Do the scavenger hunt when they offer it to you: even as a grown up you get a prize at the end. There were old yearbooks from the surrounding communities dating all the way back to the 1930s, a cool section about old pharmacy and medical equipment, stories and folklore, a room with personal stories and tales from First Nations peoples in the area. Understanding the history of Lava Hot Springs was an amazing experience. The staff were so passionate and willing to educate. THIS WAS AWESOME! So interesting and informative. They change the exhibits every so often so just because you have seen it before, don't think you have seen it all. It now costs 2 dollars per person to get in but it's worth it. Don't go to Lava Hot Springs without seeing this Museum. ...
