Do NOT ever book RV site #14!! And buyer beware, they'll lie to you, promise you stuff - then won't refund your money for a RV site. Absolutely horrid customer service, and a pissy attitude to go with it by the front desk manager. We told them our Motorhome size etc, booked a site that they called a "drive through", #14. We get there and it's on a super skinny dirt road, at the intersection of an uphill road. When you're in #14, it blocks the guests behind you in, and is so tight you can barely back in without running into the other RV's on the other side of the road. The people we boxed in had to leave before we did which meant we were going to have to get up at 5AM Sunday to let them out - there's no way the road was wide enough for them to get around us. When I went to explain this to the front desk they offered NO HELP. They said they'd never had issues, that RV's would fit there etc... but REFUSED to come out and SEE it for themselves. He then showed me a map and per my point, I showed him how we totally were blocking in other customers and the site should NEVER be sold if the site behind it is in use (and only marginally works with small rigs if there's one on the other side of the road). He couldn't give an answer, wouldn't refund us our two nights. Net, we had to stay for one night because he wouldn't give us full refund us for HIS greed and stupidity. (We talked to the people beside us and they called 2X to VERIFY they'd get a fire ring and none was there when they arrived and like us, mgt did NOTHING for them either) UGH!!! Check out the pictures... you'll see how you block in people behind you, how close you are to the rig on the other side of the road (we were within inches of them as we tried to back into our spot). Save yourself a lot of grief and just stay somewhere else that has proper RV spots and gives customer service.

When we first pulled in (after trying to find the rv park), we were dismayed for sure. A big gravel lot with about 15 full hook up spots. No one was there. So, we got out to discover the Portneuf River was right at the site! So, we decided to unhook and even extended our stay! Watching people float, holler, woohoo, just having fun was amazing. If you meet a local, which we did, we found out about the free hot springs, (climb down a short steep hill via a rope) and boom! Every place was walkable here and it was Beautiful! Staff not really present at all which was a nice change. Downside; the freaking partiers on the weekends was crazy. Full on speakers on tripods, karaoke until 11:30pm, we had our tv turned up to 85 and we could still hear them over our tv inside with closed windows. After 10 days of awesomeness, that happened and although we initially wanted to stay longer, glad we didn't. But what a great spot and the river at night if you can keep your windows open, was incredible!

Passably clean bathrooms and beds are the only nice thing I have to say. I suggest you stay anywhere else in Lava. • Missing the privacy blinds. "Blackout curtains" don't cover width of the window so people could see right in. Management said there was nothing they could do about it. • Carpet tack is exposed at front door with nails you have to avoid stepping on. • Advertised as two queens, it's a Queen and a full. • Crumbs all over under the table like chairs were never moved when vacuumed. • Broken remote. Most buttons don't work and it's held together with duct tape. • Shower has a huge crack in the siding. • No towel rods in bathroom. It's a shame since the location of this motel is perfect for enjoying Lava. Sincerely hope they fix things and stop taking advantage of people by renting out rooms they shouldn't.

Our family was so excited to stay here for a family reunion. The staff was nice upon greeting. We quickly learned that 3 of our rooms didn’t have the AC working properly. Had it not been for my husband’s career being an AC tech, we would not have had working AC. A staff member told us, “we have staff service them every other week. Maybe they didn’t do it....” this was the extent of the problem receiving a solution-but they did borrow us a shop vac so my husband could clean all our evaporator coils and get them working. The following night we moved our dinner party to the location the manager told us was appropriate so we were not taking up a parking spot. While eating, a situation arose with another customer and our family. They were not sober and used violence with items around us and inappropriate language (we had a lot of little children around). We did our best to handle the situation and resolve it. It escalated and they complained to managment. Managment then requested to us that, “people staying there are saying you are being loud and disruptive. I need you to move your easy up and future meals to the grassy area on the other side of the motel and not here where everyone is... we just want to make everyone’s stay here a happy one.” My cousin complained what they did and how it was not ok. The manager told him she already spoke to them. How could she have spoken to them already if she didn’t talk to us yet to hear our side of things? We felt she was accommodating to the family that threw the loudest and biggest fit while we quickly took down our easy up and ended our dinner. The chairs in the room smell like butt (we found this out while playing hide and go seek in our room). Plumbing vibrates in the shower so shower earlier when it won’t wake anyone. Buy lots of ice and bring a cooler because your fridge may not be plugged in and cold for your food. They were great about holding our room key for us when we wanted to go down the river and complimented this idea and were going to use the option for future guests. We were told not to leave anywhere or we would lose our parking spot. Plan a trip that is in walking distance. They have more rooms than...

If you want to pay to live like a hobo then this is your place. Power went out on a Sunday night. The front desk a girl with a nose ring and a kid claiming to be the General Manager check the fuses but they could not fix it. They told me they would stop by in a few minutes, they never showed up. I went to the office and they ask me how can they help me. I said my powers out. They check the fuses again and still no power. After that they told me there was nothing they could do. They told me to go into my dark room and wait until Monday morning. Also claiming they could not disturb the owner on Sundays because they were super religious, yet taking peoples money and not providing any service or customer service isn't the actions of super religious people. I was upset but was not combative nor rude yet the "General Manager" was making smart comments to me several times and said I was harassing the girl at the front desk. Mr. Manager then pointed out the security camera acting like I was a vandal. Then he turned off the office lights and disappeared into the back office closing the door. I had to spend over an hour in my car in 20 degree weather just to get a charge on my phone. The next day I found out that there was no maintenance person and they still had no answer as to when the power could be fixed. They would not give me contact info for the owner of the property. At this point I told them they are basically robbing me and I would have to call the police. Threatening to call the police was the only way to get the girl at the front desk to refund my night with no power and the next night which I was supposed to stay. They actually expected me to finish my stay in a room with no electricity. I could not charge my phone, I could not cook my food, the food I brought was going bad because the fridge didn t work and I couldn't even see inside at night. I couldn't get out of there fast enough and I'm still waiting...
