Michaels — Attraction in Layton

Placed an online order for one item we really needed. When the email came saying it was ready, we headed to the store. We had a few other items to pick up, so we did that first and then went to the checkout line ...where we waited And waited And waited Seven people in line and one cashier. Finally a second cashier was called. I told her right away that we had an online order for an item that should be ready. And without any warning. SHE. WALKED. AWAY.

She didn't say a word, just walked off. When she came back, she tried for ten minutes to login to an ipad that clearly was not working, and wouldn't even scan our other items. When she finally gave up on the ipad, SHE. WALKED. AWAY. AGAIN.

She just disappeared

I tried several times to get the other cashier's attention, but she pretended she couldn't hear me. Eventually, she turned around and asked me where the other cashier was. I asked her where her manager was, and she told me she's "just a pee-on who doesn't really get paid enough to care"

Finally, I canceled the item online and had my daughter go get one to be scanned at the counter.

Forty-five minutes after starting the checkout process, a very rude manager approaches me and without even looking at me, asks what my problem is. I told her I just wanted to check out and go, and said I had waited so long I just canceled the order. She said "oh, so the problem is solved then" AND. SHE. WALKED. AWAY.

We have shopped here for years, and we needed the items right away, so we waited and bought them, but we'll make sure we go out of our way to avoid this location...

I came here looking for a few things to make my daughter’s valentine box with. As soon as I walked in, there were the red boxes I needed. Next to that, there were some cute sticker hearts I had on my list. Not on my list were a couple of cute valentine boxes that I grabbed for $2. I’ll be giving these to my kids with candy inside.

I headed over to the loose paper to see what they had. A bunch of the paper was on sale and I was able to snag this really cute glitter one for 50 cents.

On the other side of the store I found the googly eyes. They had a bunch of different sizes! They had the biggest set of googly I’ve ever seen! I wish I could have grabbed those, but they were too big for my project.

I had my hands pretty full, but luckily they had a station of carts in one of the isles. I grabbed that and kept looking around the store. I could have easily been out of there in 5 minutes, but I took my time and walked around a bit. It was really easy to find everything I needed.

When I was done, the cashier was at the front and ready. My total was around $15 (I was expecting more). I did t realize it, but most of what I had grabbed was marked down. Score!

I have a cake business and used to get a majority of my supplies from here. I've been a member of the reward program for at least 4 years and have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this location over the years. I have never recieved any sort of reward or cash to spend on items. Over the past year most things I love to get for my business have slowly gone away. I can't even get a cake box because they stopped selling them. I hadn't been in for a while and decided to give them another shot at some cake supplies since it's close by. Of course they don't have some things I'm in need of but I still ended up buying $80 worth of items. I put in my phone number for rewards like I always do even though I've never recieved anything and put my card in the reader. I then told the cashier oh wait I have a coupon for 20% of my purchase. She was like oh its too late! It would have been nice for her to void my transaction and redo it with the coupon or better yet have her ask me if I had any coupons to use! I will never step foot in anther Michael's store again. I'll drive 15 extra...
