Issues with reliability and quality. They also only expect products to last 30 days without issues which seems absurd.
I purchased a sleep sac, and my wife had a blanket that was gifted to her from this store.
The zipper broke on the sleep sac, but was forgetten about until I got it out for my second child. When I brought it in I was told They couldn't do anything, but if I knew someone who can sew, that person could probably fix it for me. I was also told they no longer sell the item, which seemed to imply they are no longer responsible... Not sure.
With the blanket, it promptly had some stitching that began to come apart at the seems in two separate places. We called and were told to bring it in, but that we had to wash it first. Because the stitching was coming undone, we didn't want to wash it, and didn't know how to without causing more damage. We put the blanket in a closet and forgot about it until we moved.
Decided to use safety pins and washed it, and then I finally brought it into the store. Was told that because it was so old (even though it hasn't been used much) and because it was washed, they couldn't do anything. Again I was told that I could ask someone I know who sews to try and fix it.
I understand and know what normal wear and tear is, but cheaper sleep sacs from carter's have lasted SO much longer, as well as $15 blankets from Costco. Don't waste your time and money. Clearly manufacturering defects with their only solution being, "Ask someone who can sew."
I was under the impression that they backed their products of manufacturering defects for life, but that is my mistake I guess. I also have never had any other blanket I've owned come apart so easily.
Lastly, when we spoke to them on the phone when the blanket first came undone, they had a service to stitch it back up, but that is apparently gone now. And yes, it's been a few years since the call was made, and that's my fault, but to be told to wash it first, and then told that because I washed it the blanket was damaged is also ridiculous, and a little rude.
Will never recommend or buy from this...
Read moreI received a monster blanket for Christmas two years ago and absolutely love it to this day. Today (Christmas Day) I received an adult large size blanket as a gift from my husband. The quality is not nearly as good as my original blanket. It is much thinner and, both having polka dots, you can tell how much thinner the new one is by how much more the light comes through dots in the new blanket than the older one. The feel if the new blanket is soft but nowhere near as thick. My original blanket has no flaws, but the new one has a very noticeable white flaw on one corner of the black fabric plus an entire side of the blanket has an obvious white line down the edge in the black where it apparently wasnât sewn quite right. These are flaws you cannot see when purchasing since the blankets are rolled up but only after opening them. For the price, these should be perfect or nearly perfect. Iâm very disappointed and feel my husband paid way too much for what was meant to be a special gift that turned out to be much lower than our expectations. It sounds like they wonât do a return or exchange without it being in the original package with tag (which doesnât give you the opportunity to look at it!) though I have the packaging and his receipt. Kind of a downer on Christmas...
NOTE: I am happy to say that the Layton, UT store was able to exchange my blanket for me. They could see it was flawed and made arrangements for a replacement. My thanks to Claire and Kane (I hope I spelled your names correctly) for your help. I still believe the quality is not what it was two years ago which is very evident putting my new blanket next to my older one. Iâm giving 5 stars because of the courtesy I received taking care of my exchange. I also could feel the lack of attention to in-store customers by many employees in the store that other customers have commented on. When I went in for the exchange several employees were wrapping blankets on a back counter while talking and laughing (there were three of them), as many people were wandering the floor, some seemingly...
Read moreI've heard how great these blankets were and had a coupon for a discount. I ordered not 1 or 2 but 3. Two were the regular stocked items and the third was a custom blanket for my husband. They arrived very quickly which was amazing in today's online business. Two of the blankets were great, however I was disappointed in the custom blanket. My husband wasn't, but I was the Negative Nellie. It wasn't Minky Couture's fault with anything. I ordered from my phone and didn't enlarge the photo so didn't see the details up close, my fault not theirs. I called the business and spoke to a very nice young lady and explained my problem. I knew because it was a custom order it couldn't be returned but I was not happy. . She couldn't do anything. She referred me to her supervisor who was not available at the time but promised she'd call me the following Monday or Tuesday. I had made my call on a Saturday. We all hear those words that we'd be called back. Monday came and no call. I think I put a comment on FB either late Monday or Tuesday and I was notified by a comment on FB to call the office and ask for the supervisor Kristine Snow and she would try to help with my problem. We finally made phone contact after playing phone tag for several days. She listened to my concerns and disappointments and she said Minky didn't want any unhappy customers. She worked with me to resolve my unhappiness. She was more than generous in solving my problem, she went way beyond anything I expected a person or a company to do in today's economic world. She was a pleasure to do business with and Minky Couture is very fortunate to have someone like her representing them and their name.
Thank you Kristine Snow PS. - I have since ordered an additional 4 blankets. I should be ok for...
