I had heard about the Opera House from an author who uses it in some of her books. Beautiful building that is in use. Lots of history. The building did experience a fire in mid 80's. You can see the damage, you can also see the painstaking restoration going on to bring it back to its glory days. Worth the visit for a tour or for a performance as the acoustics were great. If you take the tour stop at the end and go through the exhibits in what used to be the library. This building has character and charm. Truly a phoenix rising from the ashes.

The place is a must visit if you’re in Leeds or Deadwood, very beautiful, and you pay 10 bucks for going back through time tunnel to golden age. There is also a small historical exhibition inside the opera house. You need to make a phone call or online reservation for visiting.

Wonderful to see the historic opera house in the process of restoration after the 1984 fire that nearly totally destroyed this great venue. They are currently presenting shows here even while it is being restored. Beautiful old theatre

Our family just wants to say thank you to Jan. Jan gave us a tour of the Opera House during off season hours, taking time out of her own day. The knowledge she has about the Opera House AND the area is just endless and this was one of the neatest places we stopped on our vacation. You absolutely do not need to be a fan of the Opera to make this one of your stops too! It was so neat to see where the fire took place and to see how things are being restored and knowing now that this is all done as a non-profit...wow. I really would love to see more people stop and donate and...

I had sooooo much fun at the Masquerade Ball Night! The Dj, Datliquorish, played great music, kept the party going, and was the very best—took any song request whenever we had a song we wanted to hear! The ladies serving drinks behind the counter were such a catch too. Hilarious and lively at the same time! I hope they’re there (and the DJ) next year too! Overall, can’t wait to come back next year for the same...
