If you're looking for a restaurant experience, a full staff ready to serve you, or even an extensive menu- this isn't it. But, if you're looking for quality food, a one-man show run by a very kind, attentive man who radiates "good vibes", and a uniquely set-up dining experience- this is it. Picture this: you walk into a shop(maybe?) Because the window says "Lasagna Mountain". There's some quilting stuff to the left, doors with numbers on them, an open kitchen concept on the right, tables, and chairs scattered about, and a counter with a handwritten menu. That was our experience. We greeted the owner to let him know we were there. He came out, all smiles, and let us know that our options were limited for beverages because he'd run out and that only one of us could have an Italian sausage because that's what was left. We both ordered the chicken Alfredo lasagna in a large size. We ordered a salad and one of each type of bread- one garlic, one cheesy. He got busy relatively quickly and was sold out of food by the time we left. The food is served on real plates which made my meal feel even more homemade and gave me that warm feeling when you know you're about to eat something that someone cooked with a dash of love. The first bite, I looked at my sister and said, "This is seasoned so well!" No idea how he keeps the chicken from overcooking or feeling gummy. It was so fresh we had to ask about it! Between running the kitchen, greeting customers, and cleaning up, the owner, Seth, pulled up a chair and talked to us. Just as almost every review prior states, very personable guy, who makes you feel like you're just eating at his house. Here's the trick: everything is sold the same day. The food doesn't get sold the following day if it doesn't sell out. He shops for fresh ingredients daily. I recommend following Lasagna Mountain on Facebook as that's where the options for the night are posted. I can't wait to return with my family on...
Read moreIf you’re in the Deadwood area and are looking for a place to eat that is away from all the touristy stuff, I strongly recommend checking out Lasagna Mountain.
This was by far the most unique eating experience I’ve had in my life. Right upon walking in, Seth went over the evenings menu and lasagna options.
Then within 10-15 minutes the food was ready to eat. The atmosphere felt like we were eating at a good friend’s house. Seth spent ample time chatting with all of us and the food was so good, our Chicago group can forgive him and his Indianapolis Colts for beating Da Bears in the Super Bowl.
With 40 different types of Lasagna offered on a rotational basis, everyone is bound to find something they are comfortable with or curious to test out.
Unfortunately, since I don’t live in the area, I won’t be able to try all 40 types of lasagna, but if I lived close by, I’d make sure to try them all out over time.
Thank you Seth for a great meal and experience. You are a legend. Enjoy the outdoors and hiking during your...
Read moreMy husband and I finally made our way to Lasagna Mountain in Lead. Our meals were DELICIOUS! Jerry had the chicken enchilada lasagna. He couldn’t eat it fast enough. I had the newest menu item … the Mushroom Swiss Pasta Bake. Ohhhh my gosh! Melt in your mouth tasty! Perfect blend of meaty mushrooms sautéed in olive oil, garlic, parsley and black pepper, mixed with a creamy 5-cheese sauce and layered with high quality Swiss cheese over rotini pasta, perfectly baked into a scrumptious entree. Seth, the owner, shops every day for fresh ingredients for each day’s lasagna menu. Try them out. Open Wed-Sun. 5pm till sell-out. Strongly recommend you call ahead and reserve your lasagna choice. Eat in or take...
