My girlfriend and I visited this place recently after touring Deadwood and it was the perfect ending to our day. Our bartender was a delight and personable, she offered us samples and made sure what we ordered before we ordered was what we wanted. we stepped outside on the back patio to get some air and after about 5 minutes after there, a gentleman stopped by and said I think you guys left your car lights on(our dogs were in the car and we we kept the car running so they could stay cool and safe). That gentlemen happen to be the owner of the place and as we were getting ready to leave, I asked so do you make this beer here or else where and he said "I make it here, would you like a tour?" Sure! So, he proceeded to take my girlfriend and I on a tour and school us on how he does thing and brews his beer. He didn't have to do this, but he did. So cool. All we were looking for was a couple of cold beers and we got that...and a freaking brewery tour from the owner out of it. We will be back. Thank you!

Tucked into an old mercantile, Dakota Shivers feels like stepping back in time—but better. The atmosphere? Beyond friendly. It’s like walking into a family gathering where everyone’s glad you showed up. The beer? Some of the most flavorful we’ve ever had. Each sip felt like a labor of love, crafted with care and purpose. But it’s the people who make this place unforgettable—the patrons so welcoming, the kind of folks who pull you into a conversation like you’ve known them for years. This isn’t just a brewery; it’s an experience. A moment where beer and community come together in the best way possible.

We went out of our way to check out this small town brewery and we are so glad we did. We tried nearly all of the beers they had and every one was top notch, especially the rye! Living in CO I've been to too many breweries, and I would say this is one of the best I've been to. In addition to the fantastic beer, the staff and patrons were all extremely friendly. Plus they allowed us to sit inside with our dog. I felt like I was back in the UK sitting in a small village pub. I'd drive back to SD just to visit this place. One of my best brewery memories. Cheers! 🍻
