West Main Lodge — Hotel in Lead

Check in time was flexible, we arrived later in the evening and it was easy access to the home. James gave great directions for the best way to come into his place and we had a garage which was wonderful. There was street parking as well. The home was clean, not cluttered and beautiful. It has been kid proofed on the plug ins and door to deck. There was three private bedrooms and the living room could be made into a private room as well. There were keys in every room to lock your bedroom doors and one for the door into the home on your keychain, as well. James was quick to respond and very nice to talk with. There is a washer and dryer, we did utilize this feature, they worked well. Kitchen is small, it has a convection/ microwave oven, full size fridge with water and ice in the door. It was perfect for our needs. My son has celiac disease, so I bring an air fryer and tiny electric skillet to cook his food. It was nice to be able to do that in a kitchen. We enjoyed the front deck facing the road. We found it quite relaxing. There is a dining table on the deck and a small sitting area. We played cards outside and ate our dinner there. The little town of Lead offers restaurants, bars and stores within walking distance. The gas station is maybe a block from the location. There was a lot of interesting history about the gold mine that was in Lead. A park to walk and read about the gold mining history and see the old mine. Deadwood was minutes away. Great place to stay! I would absolutely recommend it and would stay there again. After spending the day skiing/snowboarding at Terry Peak we were easily able to find the house, which was located only minutes from the resort. The car port located in the back made it easy to unload everything. There was a large deck up front where we grilled (nice clean grill, easy to light and use). We had dinner at the dining room table and had plenty of room the play games all evening. Everything was clean and it had everything we needed down to coffees and little personal bags of soap, shampoo and conditioner and plenty of fresh towels. (Surprisingly we didn’t even run out of hot water with everyone showering.) Bedrooms were cozy and beds were comfortable. Living room had a sofa bed with an extra mattress tucked away which made it extra comfy. We had a family of 6 (parents and 4 adultish children) staying there and it accommodated us well. James, our host, was very kind and extremely easy to work with. He made sure we had everything we needed for...

We stayed here for Sturgis bike week. This place is close enough to the rally to get there quickly yet far enough away where you can enjoy some peace and quiet. The place was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable, the garage was awesome to load and unload our bikes since it rained a couple of time while we were there and it was nice to have the deck to enjoy some downtime.
