This home is also a museum. I was so glad that they were open last week while we were in Lexington and not shut down because of covid! The two historians working there provided a lit of extra information about the home and the items in it, as well as insider information about Mary Todd Lincoln and her family. The home is incredibly well restored, and the garden/courtyard in the back was beautiful. Many of the items in the home belonged to the family, and all of the items were period-accurate. There's also a small gift shop in a room off the 2nd floor balcony that had books and a lot of cute little souvenirs for sale. It's definitely worth seeing! The historians would allow you to self-guide your tour, but would offer information about anything they noticed you stopped to look at, which I liked better than a guided tour where you get shuttled around on the tour guide's schedule. The historians were also willing to answer questions about the property, items in the house, as well as Mary Todd Lincoln and her family. We're so glad we went! There are only a couple of parking spots behind the house, but you can also park in the church parking lot directly across the alley from the house.

A great tour for tourist or locals to learn more history about the Lincoln's. 3 PM is their last tour which is the one I took. We was not rush during the tour even though it was the last tour of the day. The tour was great and the people were very friendly. They were very knowledgeable. I like how they opened the whole room for you to go in. Henry Clay (great tour, also) ropes off the rooms. You can touch the original staircase that the Lincoln's have touched. The price of the tour is very reasonable. I was going to go on Mrs. Todd's birthday (I believe) which they were doing free tours. The traffic was heavy and I was confused where the parking lot was. This time taking my time I realized how easy it was to get to. The area is a great area. Visit downtown Lexington. The Square (shopping, eating) and Triangle Park are very close to MTL House.

We spent an hour here on a self-guided tour, exploring the rooms and reading the information provided. This was an important place for me to visit, as I have been fascinated by Mary Todd Lincoln since I was little. I found the information on her formative years interesting, as well as the more current view of the contribution that enslaved Americans made during that time period. I realize that it was her childhood home, but wish there had been more information about her later years, which are so interesting. The staff were kind and happy to answer any questions.

Well, it cost $15 bucks per person, and i went with my wife, daughter, and son in law . it is a self guided tour. It wasn't that fascinating to tell the truth. it was jaw-dropping. History in that era wasn't the best, but I like history, so we went . But in my opinion it was not worth the money at all. Note the people running it were very knowledgeable and kind. the man working the second floor was so funny. I'm sorry I forgot your name if you are reading this.

Nice visit to the Mary Todd Lincoln House. Good historical facts and artifacts about and from the time period. Place was restored starting in 1976 and has the intent of the time when the Todd family lived there. Gardens outside with bathrooms. It's self guided but has experts onsite to answer questions. Two floors of fun. I appreciate the factual tributes and mention of the enslaved persons' contributions throughout the home. It was 1800s Kentucky....
