I took my 9 year old and 2 year old here to see a movie. Everything was going fine until my 2 year old started to get impatient and fuss. After briefly trying to quiet him down, I took him out of the theatre where he proceeded to throw a typical 2 year old fit outside of the movie. I had just calmed him down when I was approached by a manager and told that if I didn’t “have him under control,” that we’d all be asked to leave. He told me they’d received a noise complaint, to which I told him that yes, when he began to cry, I removed him from the theatre. I asked what else I was supposed to do, and the gentleman repeated again that I needed to keep him “under control.” I don’t know if any of you have kids, but if so, you’d know that it is very hard to keep a 2 year old quiet at all times. My youngest has gone to other movies just fine, but he did have a tantrum for which I removed him from the theatre for. The gentleman was so rude, I was afraid to even return to the theatre for us to try finishing the movie. My 9 year old then sat through an hour and a half of the film completely by himself, and we spent money on tickets and snacks for absolutely nothing. While we sat in the lobby, the 2 managers kept looking over at us and snickering and glaring. I understand not wanting to have a child screaming through a movie, but if the child has been removed for his noise and calmed himself down, was it really necessary to threaten us in such a way that we felt unsafe to even return? It spoiled our day for sure, and we will never return. Poor management, no respect, and the theatre was dirty...
Read moreWe watched the latest offering of the big summer movies and really enjoyed the experience. We got to talking (I was complaining lol) about the prices, especially the snack prices. My son-in-law mentioned a good point, he brought up that the movies are not making a ton of money on the ticket prices. He went on to say that this was due to the fact that they have to accommodate such a picky crowd in today's day of extremely competitive entertainment industry. When you put the theater up against Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, the big cable and satellite providers and on and on... You realize that their only draw is the experience. We looked around and took in the stadium seating, the electronic reclining chairs, the wide aisles and I realized that he was right. The theater could easily seat two if not three times more butts if they have the old style shoulder-to-shoulder seating like I can remember many theaters having. Considering that you can pick your seat in advance with an app, that you can recline in comfort and that you have surround sound how to level that I can't afford for my home... I stick with my assertion that I won't go to the theater except for what I refer to as "movie theater movies", however I have come to have a new appreciation for just what that means. This particular location is good for me and my family, and for that matter all of the Marcus chain has the same things going for them: They are clean, well-appointed, comfortable and most importantly, they provide the...
Read moreMy son lost his walllet in one of the seats. He called them and ask if they found it. If they did not find it could he come and look for it. They said no they did not find it and no he couldn't come look for it because a movie was playing in that theater. They said they would look for it. He is very trusting and had no worries because he feels like everyone does what they say they will do. Well I as his Fatherdo not have that same faith in humanity. I called and talked to the same person as Ty. I went over the situation. He told me he would look in the lost and found. Came back and said nope...nothing. i asked if anyone looked for it. He said nope. I asked what time they closed and when the last movie was starting in that theater. He told me. I went down and before the next movie started. I told him who i was and what i needed to do because there was no chance anyone there was going to look for it. I could totally tell when i talked to him. I started looking in between and under the seats. WOW! FREAKIN GROSS! They never clean under the seats. It was sooo disgusting. I ended up getting more help from a person waiting for the movie to start than i did the staff. THANK YOU AGAIN BRAXTON! He...
