If there is one review you read, please let it be this one. First off, if I would like to state that I took my phone here a few years ago to get the screen replaced. This experience was seamless and fair priced. Flash forward to now, things have changed. I took my computer in as I was having some issues with it, ultimately those issues couldn’t be resolved but that is understandable and no one’s fault. However, let’s go over the process. When I brought my laptop, I was greeted by a not very friendly man who almost seemed bothered by me asking a few run of the mill questions. I was also informed that in order for them to even inspect my computer, it would be necessary for me to sign up for a $30/ month membership. One, their website advertised 100% free inspections/ quotes.. apparently not true. Two, this system leaves things very open ended, meaning if it takes over a month for your device to be worked on, you are in for the parts, labor, and now two charges of this membership. Reluctantly, I said screw it and payed. Fast forward to picking up my device. The man who helped me was much friendlier, and briefed me on what had happened with my device. Once I got in my car to leave, I looked a little closer at my computer— scratched and chipped everywhere. One of the cornered had been completely rubbed off white. I could not believe it, but of course what can you do as it is your word against someone else’s. This in itself was upsetting, but nothing compared to what came next. The next day I got around to cancelling my membership. The company that bought out/ handles their payments is called Asurion Home+, and they require you to call to cancel. The person I spoke to was a bit pushy, and it took 5 minutes for them to stop trying to sell me the subscription and realize I already had one. Once they realized I did, it became a new game of trying to entice me to keep it. They even told me a lie that in order for my subscription to be cancelled, they were going to send me a catalog of the benefits of keeping the subscription, and if after 24 hours I still wanted to cancel it I could. I very kindly pleaded that I appreciated the offer but my mind was made up, and if possible I needed to cancel today. He said he understood, that he would cancel it for me, and that in 24 hours or less I would receive a confirmation email. Even though this should have been the end of it, the whole thing felt very scammy, so until I received that email I wasn’t going to forget about it. The next day I had grown tired of waiting so I messaged a customer service rep in the app just to confirm my subscription had been cancelled. Seems over the top, but why not be positive. I was then informed that my account was still active, and that it had not been cancelled. A bit more frustrated I called the number the rep gave me to talk to the billing department. Of course, I got an automated message informing me the lines were full, and to leave my number and someone would get back to me. I decided to stay on the line anyways as me and you both know no one was ever going to get back to me. Someone took my call only a few minutes later, and I cut straight to the point about what had happened thus far. However, this time I used words like scam and sketchy, and very quickly the man assured me he could help me. He told me he saw the rep who had helped me before, and that there was a note in my file that said the cancellation process had occurred, and that there must have been some mistake.. right. He cancelled my account then and there, and 3 minutes later I received my confirmation email. This whole experience was absolutely insane, and for this being a legitimate company I am horrified....
Read moreI took a laptop in that appeared to have overheated or been dropped. The very unenthusiastic clerk advised it would take at least 2 weeks and $135 to diagnose and potentially repair. If we joined their membership for $30, they could diagnose at no extra charge. He was not optimistic about its repair so we asked for a simple data transfer so we could install my files on a new computer. After a week, we had no heard and called the shop. We were told the laptop could not be repaired. We went to the store to pick up the laptop and explained that we did not ask for repair, data transfer only. The equally unhelpful clerk said it had been taken apart and it was the battery that was bad, not the laptop and it would cost over $100 to get a new battery. He also said they had phoned and left this message. The HAD NOT. I was then told the computer could not be turned on even though it worked when I took it in. He said without the purchase of the battery and repair, data could not be retrieved. I brought the laptop home with the promise that the store manager would follow up with me today. I have not heard anything but more importantly, I plugged in the laptop without a battery and it worked fine. In fact, I am writing this message on the very laptop I was told would not turn on. I would never recommend this business and will be sure to...
Read moreI was contacted by the owner after this review and he apologized. I appreciate when the person in charge gets back with you. I made an appointment with them because I could not get my iPad to charge, and only 1 cable would even go in the charging port. The person who came out. I showed him my iPad and the cord not going in correctly. He nodded and said I needed a new charging cord, which would be 900.00 in parts, not counting labor. Now, this is a 2016 iPad Pro, so I understood it might have gone bad, and a new iPad Pro would be better than repairing this old one. I waited until the new 2022 IPad Pros came out. On 12/4/22, I started having the same issue with my Gen 9. It is under Apple Care, so they sent me to Best Buy for repair. In under 3 seconds, the guy looked into the charging port and said your charging cable is broken and their are tiny pieces in here preventing a cable from going in. He went back and then came out and showed us the pieces. It made me wonder about my iPad Pro, the old one. So we took it to him, and sure enough, he found pieces in the charging port there also. Took it out, and it charged fine. So because they didn’t even pick up my iPad or take it to the back to look at the charging port, I am out 1300.00 for an iPad I didn’t need to buy. Be very careful if you use...
