As a horror and Halloween fanatic, I really wanted to like this place… and I did, at first. I came in from another side away from the entrance and parked as usual. After exploring the store, it seemed as if I was being followed around and stared at quite a bit. The manager/owner made me very uncomfortable, even shared a very inappropriate joke that was not at all funny. The store itself could really use some work and some new staff that are more inviting and less judgmental/stiff. After touring everything, which really only took about 10-15 minutes, I was already ready to leave. While sitting in my car about to leave, the manager or owner came out looking around which was odd to me, and then approached my car. He proceeded to look into my car and asked if I bought anything, which I did not appreciate, it felt as if I was being interrogated. Then he proceeded to say that I don’t have a parking pass and normally he would just tow me but I made it clear that I did not know a parking pass was needed. To sum it all up, you have to pay 5 dollars for parking just to browse a very disorganized and overpriced store. The prices would actually be worth it if the service was extraordinary, but it just simply is not. I would even say that this is not family friendly, and I would not go here again. I am extremely disappointed in the behavior of the staff and sad that I will not be going here again as I wanted to give it a chance. It is not all it is hyped up to be, but perhaps it could be in a few years if new staff is hired or some serious changes emerge.
Edit: Notice how the response I got was completely irrelevant and unprofessional with claims that the owner never addressed anyone outside of the store except for someone that was stealing a week after I ever even came into the store. What does that have to do with anything for one, and obviously the statement is not true because why else would I have made this review? Clearly someone was addressed prior to the alleged “stealing” incident that had nothing to do with me and occurred much after I posted this review. They clearly did not think that one through.
Edit 2: Also, I saw someone leave a review about the parking fee. The owner proceeded to respond to this person claiming that if you are a “patron” you do not have to pay parking, and also claims that they tell you this. They do not, and there was not a sign for this when I went, just a dusty old sign commanding you to pay 5 dollars to browse the store for 10-15 minutes and probably end up not buying anything anyway due to the...
Read moreWow! Thanks for the first haunted house for me (first time here when I was 7 yrs old) and now for my kids! My kids (age 7 and 10) loved the scares and were begging to go again after this being their first haunted house ever. Surprised how much thought went into the scare factor and the character roles were spot on. Michael Myers was behind you and then caught up with the quickness... accurate to the portrayals in the movie where there's no way he's that fast only walking. Ah yes, dead on with jump scares and crazy noises that make you cringe or fly to the other side of the room. Been going here since I was 7 yrs old old and happy to carry on the tradition with my kiddos. The costume shop just speaks for itself when you go visit, spectacular all around. Always amazed by the quality and environment. The employees did their job wonderfully! The man letting us into the haunted house thanked me right away for supporting their business, he was so genuine, another amazing employee that obviously loves his job. With the amount of customers flooding this place, I was still greeted pleasently and helped at every corner of the store, with multiple registers in each section. The environment was spot on with even the employees side banter totally focused on Halloween vibes. Thanks for the experience and the many gifts I purchased to remember this 2020 visit. You are awesome Reinke Brothers, can't wait to visit again and I hope to see you in the...
Read moreI really like this place a lot better than Spirit Halloween which is so generic. I love the atmosphere and the employees and they have a good selection of anything you could ever want for halloween. The only problem is that there was a bit of a smell. And I feel bad even mentioning it but some people are even more sensitive than I am and they might not want to smell that. Perhaps a child got scared and had an accident or something like that but there was a strong urine odor. It did make me a little overwhelmed and I had to leave the area. And I really even feel bad mentioning it because the employees were so nice but dang it was a strong smell for me. On the flip side they had live music and that was way cool. And like I said the employees were so lovely. Everybody who works there is so kind and really enthusiastic about their Halloween spirit. And my daughter really loved the mask that she chose. It is a very high quality and it will last for years to come if she takes care of it. I'm sure that they will do a carpet cleaning or whatever they need to do and get rid of that smell but in the meantime maybe just suck on a peppermint when you come in there haha sorry. ^^; Overall it still leaps and bounds way nicer than any generic Halloween store that you're going to from a corporate place like definitely skip those and go to Reinke if you want more of a true Halloween spirit and a higher...
