This review includes a section about the IMAX 3D experience!
*SUMMARY (If you wish to not read all of the review, here's a quick summary): The theater is very stylish & clean, with all of the food & drink stands placed around the walls of the main lobby so you can easily walk to and from each one. Although food is only served later in the afternoons, you have a wide variety to choose from & can eat the food during your movie. The staff here is friendly & helpful, helping you get along with your day. The massive Imax 3D screen here is amazing for intense or visually stunning action movies, with the seats also being comfortable & large.
*IMAX 3D Experience The Imax screen here is MASSIVE, which is the amazing part of the experience. If you're looking to watch a movie in Imax, be aware that it's best for ones with lots of action or stunning visuals (such as Avatar: The Way of Water). The sound systems here are also loud but crisp, so you can actually feel the bass during intense action scenes but better relate to the characters during somber ones due to the superb sound quality. The seats are also large and padded, which differs from other Imax screens as they usually have smaller, less comfortable seats. The seats here can even slightly recline, but there are no foot rests & the seats can only recline so far. As per the 3D, the experience is subjective to each person. I personally did not have any side effects & absolutely loved how the characters on the screen were popping out, but it may not be the same for you. (There is a picture of the screen from the back of the theatre included!)
*Appearance/Design Upon entering, you're greeted with vibrant & stylish colors. You have concession & food stands on the walls of the theater to give you as much room as possible to maneuver around. As this theater was recently renovated, it looks much better than it used to. Everything is set up neatly & organized, so you won't get stuck behind lines in the middle of the walkway & can grab a drink from the bar if needed.
*Food/Concession BE AWARE that meals are not served in this theater in the mornings. You will only have basic concessions such as popcorn, nachos, & drinks. Later in the afternoon, you have a wide variety of foods to choose from (check the menu to see all the foods!). As this is a Dine-In theater, you'll be ordering the food beforehand and receiving the food to eat during the movie. I'm unable to say how the food was as I unfortunately came in the morning.
*Staff Service All of the staff here were friendly & focused on the job. At the front one of the staff accidentally dropped a pair of 3D glasses on the floor, but gave us a new one free of any charge. We got through the concession stands quickly & were even said goodbye too when we...
Read moreThis place is terrible! Last week, on Father’s day, my family and I went to see the 7:40 pm showing of a movie. We arrived at the theater, excited to get popcorn and candy, only to find out the concession stand has been closed and the ONLY way to get popcorn and drinks was to order at your seat. Okay, very inconvenient. Why make something super easy and convenient, INCONVENIENT?! So we head over to our theater entrance and it’s roped off. It’s 7:39 pm and we were told we couldn’t enter because they were “cleaning the theater”. Mind you, all of the theaters around us that had way later times than our showing were already cleaned or being cleaned. Their priorities are not in order - we had to stand outside the theater for 15 minutes while all the previews were happening because they were cleaning our theater. I have never had to wait before this close to a showtime, let alone during previews! We asked a staff member what was going on to which he replied “yeah, we low on help” and walked away. Finally, around 7:55, they let us into our movie. We walk over to our seats simply wanting to order what you normally get at a theater - popcorn, drinks, and candy. Finally, after our call light being on for awhile, a waitress appears. Apparently, they only have ONE SIZE popcorn which is a LARGE - SAME WITH DRINKS! You’re going to make people pay for a whole entire LARGE POPCORN AND DRINK?! What?!!!!! Ridiculous!!! So we order, and my mom asked the waitress for a separate bucket of popcorn so we can split this huge ridiculous size popcorn among us. She never brought it. My stepdad also ordered a Coor’s light but received a Corona. And my stepsister and her boyfriend ordered 2 Oreo shakes which took almost 50 minutes to get. This place is absolutely terrible. I will never be back, there are way better movie theaters...
Read moreI have pros and cons.
Pros: inside looks very appealing. Theater is a nice size, 18 different theaters so many movies can play at one time. Wait staff was very friendly and did their job very well. Food was hot. We went to see Shrek which is a little bit older. The quality of the movie was amazing! You could see every small detail in the character's faces, it was great!
Cons: it was my first time at this location since they re-vamped it up. Wasnt really sure how to order food, figured it out eventually. After i finally figured out how the button worked, it took my server awhile to get to me. He came after the movie started, no big deal really. All my food and drinks came at different times which was very strange and my 3 year old was the last to receive her meal. The prices of the food is a little bit more expensive just like a regular restaurant so I expected restaurant quality food. I ended up paying $46 for 2 meals, popcorn, and an extra drink. The food I recieved was quite mediocre. I paid $17.99 for the fish and chips. The fish tasted like it had been previously frozen and were rather small. The slaw that came with it wasnt great either, was rather bland actually. One of my daughters chicken tenders was small and mostly breading so that was disappointing as well. Also, i didnt know it was customary to recieve lemons with the produce sticker still attached, needless to say i didnt use the lemons. The price i paid was NOT worth it. The guy who was cleaning up the plates at the end also seemed really mad cause he was clanging the plates around and just didnt seem very friendly.
All in all, would I come back and watch a movie here: Yes. Would I pay for...
