Alvarado Terrace Park — Attraction in Los Angeles

Left this area a few years ago. It’s a nice little park but it’s the hood.. the apartments surrounding the area are renter heavy prob rent control and section 8, which is problematic. It shows due to the trash and graffiti constantly left in the street and area. I used to pay a gardener just to clean up trash on my corner of the block which was constant. Lots of homeless people moving through the area as it’s adjacent to main streets and downtown. One time got into a fight with a guy because he kept pooping on the sidewalk in from of my house across the street...

I visit here quite a bit. The parking is HORRIBLE. I got a ticket friday. I am going to the BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO COMPLAIN. There is more red in the entire area it really doesn't make sense. I like the area. Very quiet. No shooting, I haven't been treated any other way then if I were anywhere else in the USA. But the parking is unfair to everyone. It seems like no one goes any Where. I recently moved to this area and was pleasantly surprised to discover this park while exploring. It’s a really cool, hidden spot with families enjoying themselves and kids having fun. I do wish the drunks and vagrants, some of whom gave me a scary look, would find somewhere else to be. This park should be a place...
