Rodeway Inn Convention Center — Hotel in Los Angeles

The most horrible customer service and place to stay I ever had in LA. I came to LA for a convention with my sister and we were treated so badly by the front desk. When I arrived the front desk person Muhammad was very rude and when I would ask questions about the remaining balance his exact words was “what are you scared of?”. I have never been so mistreated in my life, that gave me a weird feeling. He also double charged my card after I already informed him their system automatically took out money 2 hrs before I arrived. He still proceeded to charge me for the same amount plus the balance which I noticed once I went back to my room. I came back down to address him and he said “omg why don’t you go to sleep, it’s 4 in the morning”. Me and my sister looked at each other in shocked. I was very close to calling the police but it was late and we had nowhere else to stay. In the morning I spoke with someone and ask for manager when I went down to office, of course I was told he wasn’t in. I called my bank and reported the transaction which they confirmed the double transaction. I went to my event and never got a chance to see the manager just was given a paper saying it was fixed but it was NOT. My bank was the only help I received. I checked out Thursday 2/13/2020 morning and went to the office. The young man was sleep on their couch. I kept knocking on the window then he finally woke up with an attitude. I gave him my room key he then started to walk of before I said excuse me may I have my print out. He had an attitude. He Tried to find paper but couldn’t and was mumbling curse words out of frustration. He then told me come back tomorrow he has no paper. I told him sir I don’t live here this is the purpose of checking out. He cut me off with words and said well we will email it to u. I asked him his name he also said Muhammad. You can tell he was completely lying and this is what this hotel is use to doing. Lying and using each other names. By far the worst service and hotel in LA. Even if you have a quick trip please please please do NOT stay here. Save...

Honestly, 1 star is being generous. This listing is very misleading. No breakfast is offered, and the pool is closed. The room was dirty and disgusting, smelled like cigarettes despite being non-smoking, the door latch was broken, the blinds were also broken so we had to rig something under window so that no one could peep into our room at night, there were bodily fluid stains all over the carpet (seriously DO NOT walk barefoot here), and most importantly - it's ROACH INFESTED. I woke up to use the bathroom on our last night there (stayed 3 nights total) and saw 4 roaches scatter when I turned the lights on. I took a video and killed the two larger roaches before the other two babies went into a crack in the bathroom wall. I was so grossed out I was immediately awake so I went to the front desk with my phone to show the manager on duty the video. He watched it and offered me some Raid or to change rooms (even though there was a No Vacancy sign in the reception window). I told him my friends were still sleeping (it was 4am) and that I didn't want to wake them to spray pest control chemicals and also that we didn't want to change rooms as we would be checking out 7 hours later. He didn't really seem to care. I asked if we could at least receive some kind of discount or a comp for a night for the inconvenience. He declined and said there was nothing he could do. I asked if I could speak to a manager and he informed me that he was. I felt nothing further could be done so I went back to my room and started packing and loading my car. Would NEVER stay here again and wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. This MOTEL shouldn't cost any more...

Not a good experience. On our way to this Hotel our Uber driver told us not to go walking outside from the hotel and make sure we kept our doors closed and locked at all times.

When we arrived the check-in was friendly and courteous. The lobby was a 3-Star. With keys in-hand we went to the elevator. The elevator was filthy dirty and stunk.

We checked in to our two rooms. The rooms had a musty smell, the rooms were not clean. There was visible light coming in the gaps around all sides of the closed and locked room doors, and not a small gap.

Our rooms overlooked residential property. The loud music and vulgar language coming from the individuals working on several autos in the alley outside our room continued for the 15 minutes we stayed in our rooms while deciding whether we could stay. As the fire alarm continued to sound in the adjacent building we chose to leave the hotel because we didn't feel safe.

We went to the lobby and explained our concerns and that we would check out. We were told we would not be refunded for any of the three days or two rooms we had booked and would be charged for the full amount. We tried to negotiate a resolution without success.

The photos shown of the rooms are staged and not representative of the rooms, at least not in the rooms we were checked in to.

This location is also advertised as an easy walk to the convention center. It is a doable walk, but not a comfortable walk as you pass through several sidewalk based homeless...
