10/5 Stars – Thoughtful, Comfortable, and Truly Accessible
I rarely write hotel reviews, but this hotel truly deserves recognition—especially from the perspective of someone traveling with mobility challenges and health needs. (I use mobility aids including a scooter)
*First off, the room was exceptionally well thought out. The furniture placement was intuitive and accessible, making it easy to navigate without feeling cramped or cluttered or at risk of falling. As someone who deals with mobility issues, this layout made a huge difference in comfort and functionality.
*The bed was very comfortable—high, yes, which might be a challenge for shorter or more disabled folks, but once you're in it? One of the absolute best hotel sleeps I’ve had in a long time. Very comfortable!
*And the staff? I honestly can't say enough good things. They weren’t just helpful—they were genuinely friendly, thoughtful, and deeply considerate. I felt seen and cared for. When I explained I needed better access to electrical outlets—since the few near the bed were hard to reach or potentially hazardous—they didn’t hesitate. One amazing woman actually crawled under the bed, plugged in an extension cord, and laced it up through the headboard so I’d have safe, easy access. That’s not just service—that’s heart.
*If I could give the staff 100 out of 5 stars, I would. They alone are a reason I’d come back. The staff here is beyond amazing, and the lady who helps at breakfast was a joy!!
*The only suggestion I’d offer is around breakfast. For those of us who can’t do heavy carbs (diabetics, keto folks, etc.), there weren’t any protein options—no scrambled eggs, sausage, or even something simple like boiled eggs or yogurt cups. It’s a small thing, but would make a big difference for guests with dietary needs.
*Still, none of that takes away from how calm, clean, comfortable, and welcoming this hotel was. I was given a beautiful suite, on the first floor with a kitchenette and Old Hollywood style charm, including a separate vanity area with hair dryer and lots of closet space. I felt respected, safe, and comfortable from the moment I arrived. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
**Edited to add... I've seen some one star reviews and wonder if we stayed in the same place as they did. Yes the parking lot is small and cramped but at least there's a parking lot that is easily accessible. The building is older, but it's well cared for and charming (although in full transparency, you CAN hear the people in the suite above you, walking around, if they are heavy-footed).
As for the "sketch area"...I am a 54yo disabled woman who uses mobility aids (not a bot writing 5 star reviews), I traveled with my 27yo and 25yo daughters. NONE OF US FELT UNSAFE.
The lobby was well lit and I was able to easily navigate it on my mobility scooter because they included ADA ramps and the furniture was not cluttering anything to make a hazard for me.
This IS an old building. Because I am disabled, I was given a first floor suite. I cannot speak to whether there are elevators or anything else, but I am sure that if you call ahead they will make the best opportunity for accommodations that are available. That's what we did, and I had a WONDERFUL stay.
We made this trip for my daughter's to see Halsey and Evanescence at the Hollywood Bowl. My daughter's walked there from the hotel, about a 10-minute walk, and they say they felt safe. Meanwhile, I stayed back at the hotel, and needed something from my car and went on my mobility scooter through the alley to the small parking lot and never felt unsafe. Staff is here 24/7 and they will make accommodations for you if you...
Read moreMy wife and I had the pleasure of visiting Los Angeles for the first time in October 2024, and although this review is a bit delayed, it’s one we felt compelled to share. We couldn't be happier with our decision to stay at this hotel. Housed in a converted older apartment building, this hotel may not offer the lavish amenities of a five-star establishment, but what it lacks in luxury, it more than makes up for in character and service.|The staff here truly deserve a shout-out, as they are the heart of what makes your stay enjoyable and personal. We chose this hotel due to its prime location and the glowing reviews we read, and it certainly did not disappoint.|Conveniently located near most major attractions on the Strip, the hotel is within walking distance of the Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theatre, the metro station, and various dining options. The Ovation Mall is 2 mins walk a passageway near the hotel. We dined and had a drink at Dave & Busters and Hard Rock Cafe to celebrated our birthdays. We also indulged in Wahlburgers and In-N-Out Burger a couple of times since we don't have these chains back home. For those who prefer to prepare their own meals, there's a Target and Walgreens nearby, and the kitchenette in the room is equipped with a fridge, microwave, small dining table, and basic cutlery.|The breakfast room is managed by the wonderful Ms. Patricia, who goes out of her way to make guests feel at home. Her friendly demeanor and hospitality leave a lasting impression on everyone she meets. The breakfast is simple, featuring cereal, toast, butter, cheese, waffles, and pancakes, but no meat or eggs. However, the sweet Patricia even offered to personally prepare eggs for us before starting her shift for the remainder of our stay, making us feel truly cared for.|Initially, we considered taking an organized tour bus, but Alvin at the front desk kindly provided us with excellent tips on what to see and do. Our first adventure was to take an Uber to Universal Studios, but Alvin suggested using Mr. Ifti's services for a drop-off and pick-up, which was incredibly reasonable. Subsequently we also ended up booking a private full day tour with Mr. Ifti, who turned out to be a perfect gentleman. He tackled our a list of sights, and ranked what to hit first to avoid LA’s traffic and took us to the best photo stops, which became the highlight of our LA trip. He does not rush you and ensures that you check all the boxes from your must dos.|It was disheartening to learn that some areas we visited were later affected by wildfires. Nonetheless, we were fortunate to see everything we wanted to and more, thanks to Mr. Ifti. We highly recommend his services to others looking for a personalized...
Read moreWe recently spent five nights at the Hollywood Celebrity Hotel and had a truly delightful experience. The location is unbeatable—no car needed! There were many Hollywood sites within walking distance and convenient transportation to the rest of LA, making our trip incredibly convenient.||The hotel’s charm was one of the highlights for us. It has that kitschy, nostalgic vibe you might find in a classic Route 66 motel. The interior is decorated with vintage Hollywood posters, and the lime-green decor transports you to another era. If you’re someone who loves sleek, modern styles, this aesthetic might be off-putting, but we found it quirky and full of character. It gave the place a distinct identity that made our stay memorable, which is hard to find in many modern, cookie-cutter hotels.||The location could hardly be better. While there are other hotels within waking distance of the sites we wanted, many of them looked quite sketchy. After using this hotel as our hub to explore Hollywood for a week, we realized just how much of a hidden gem it is. You don’t have to cross a single street to reach the Dolby Theatre, Ovation Hollywood shopping center, or the nearby bus and metro lines. It was so convenient, and after long days of exploring, it was a relief to return to a place that was clean, safe, and welcoming.||The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Alvin, the concierge, was a joy to interact with—always ready with a smile and helpful recommendations. The breakfast staff and housekeeping were also fantastic, ensuring everything was spotless and comfortable every day. We were especially impressed with Mr. Ifti, the owner of the private taxi the hotel recommended. His service was more affordable than Uber, and he even picked us up from a midnight show, staying cheerful and engaging even at 3:00 a.m. when we were all half-asleep.||It’s clear that the hotel could use a refresh in some areas, but everything was very clean and fully functional, so we didn’t mind at all. We understand that some reviews might be mixed because people are used to the newer, sleeker look of chain hotels. But if you appreciate a place with charm, history, and personality—this hotel delivers in spades.||If you’re looking for a centrally located hotel with fantastic service, unique charm, and excellent local connections, this is the...
