This was our first time dining at Yamashiro’s and I am giving it four stars. The views, scenery and grounds are beautiful. The food was delicious, the service was lacking. Our server wanted our entire food order at once, we were not expecting that and no real explanation other than that’s how it had to be done.
We placed our beverage, appetizers and food order then waited almost 20 minutes for our drinks. Then everything showed up at the same time, drinks appetizer and main courses, one of our sushi rolls was delivered at the end of dinner, right before the check, the reason our waiter gave was “we have two separate kitchens and it takes longer.” Once that roll was served the bus boy was standing over me trying to clear the table, the waiter stood there as I was trying to close out the check, it was uncomfortable and felt like we were being rushed out. Server hardly ever came back for follow-up with us on water, wine, etc. wine list was mediocre. We spent time with our waiter trying to negotiate gf options. Not enough here that were correctly labeled to warrant going back. Waiter tried to push off our celiac concerns and questions. Finally came back with one option for pork chops that could be modified for a celiac.
