Extremely Painful Experience and Highly Unprofessional Follow-Up at Powder beauty.

I had a terrible experience that resulted in skin injury and appalling customer service. The Waxing Incident & Injury: During the waxing service, the technician left the wax on my face to take a personal phone call. This lapse in attention led to the wax being left on too long, which resulted in my skin being painfully peeled and injured on both cheeks. I am still in pain from this incident (I provided photos to the merchant). Appalling Customer Service & Dismissal of Injury: When I contacted the merchant with photos of my injury, I received an unprofessionally aggressive text message from them at 11:18 PM. Despite the visible injury and my pain, they were extremely rude and attempted to shift the blame to me, stating, "You know your skin type, you should refuse it if your skin is super sensitive." Worse, they claimed they "kindly did our favor to help you remove your cheeks hair," entirely dismissing the fact that I was injured. The idea that peeling off a client's skin is a "favor" is shocking and deeply unprofessional. Missing Refund: The merchant agreed to process a credit/refund (as stated in their 11 PM text), but I have still not received my money back. I even tipped the technician for the service before realizing the extent of the damage. I am deeply upset by both the physical pain caused by the technician's distraction and the complete lack of accountability and compassion shown by this business. update: the salon responded to my review saying they couldn’t find my info so i forwarded my original e-mail from my experience to the contact on the website. i got a response saying the business ownership has changed and i’d receive a follow up from the original owner. i never did…

original review: I wanted to love my pedicure here in April but unfortunately left with nails so short they were sore for over a week, nicks on my cuticles, gel polish applied sloppily, and a part of the service was missed. I work in a salon and witness/receive regular pedicures and after reading Powder’s reviews I was confident my experience would be comparable to the ones I have but it was not.

I emailed Powder within a few days in regards to this as I hoped to address it privately before leaving a public review. I also asked a question about their pedi bowl sanitization - the liners they use in them made me wonder the thoroughness. I never got a response and it was disheartening.
