Would be a solid 5 stars if the people in the other room wasn’t yelling, screaming at the top of their lungs while using profanity in a family setting. I instantly regretted spending $120+ for my wife and I to create this memory and experience VR gaming together. Our instructor (Jada) was great and in my opinion a very dedicated and proficient instructor. Even when we could hardly hear her over the other parties obnoxious ignorance. She came a little closer and spoke a little louder and went step by step during the process of putting all the VR gear on. Id recommend this company invest into noise cancellation headsets that also has mic monitoring so the user can hear themselves talking to minimize that atrocious situation. About 15 to 25 minutes into our gaming session the other party left and we finally could truly hear each other talking and got to enjoy the last 20 or so minutes of our 45 minute session. You get a video of you and you group that shows you in game and in real life playing in snippets. We got 3, 1 minute snippets. Over all it was a great last 20 minutes and Jada was a wonderful instructor! 5 stars for her! But definitely a waste of $120 dollars. I truly fell at the very least the staff could’ve paused their game and asked them to stop all the profanity and repugnant screaming or they would be forced to end their session and ask them to leave. If i could go back in time i absolutely would spend that $120 some where else for different VR...

My experience: I kept getting volume messages in the first stage, then all audio cut out completely at the second stage. I raised my hand for help, like we were told to do, but no one came. In the third stage, I completely lost tracking alongside the audio. I held my hand up for at least five minutes before finally just taking the gear off myself and going out. Neither one of the associates were anywhere to be found. The rest of the facilty was empty. I even got on their system computer and talked to my team with the associate's intercom (they couldn't hear me if I tried to talk in person). Eventually, I went back in, waited for it to end and left.
2nd Experince: The game started lagging and stuttering halfway though, like it had a bad connection. It progressively got worse until the final levels where it would freeze for seconds at a time so I don't really know what happened. My headset could not keep up with the movement of the game. If this place had the equipment to actually provide the experience they're trying to sell, it might be fun. But we're 0/2 on having a functional VR experience.
There probably won't be a...
Read moreWe discovered Sandbox VR at Oxmoor Center thanks to a recommendation from our hotel—and wow, what an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, everything was top-notch. The entrance was inviting, the reception area was clean and welcoming, and the staff provided outstanding guidance and support every step of the way.
Getting geared up with the VR headsets and equipment was smooth, and once the lights went down, I was completely transported into another world. We chose The Hunger Game experience, and it did not disappoint! The adrenaline rush, the thrill of collecting coins, and dodging virtual obstacles made it an unforgettable adventure.
It was truly like stepping into a universe I’ve never seen before. If I get the chance, I’ll definitely be back to try out another game!
The only thing I’d improve is having clearer instructions before starting, especially around how to download the experience afterward or what to expect during the game if someone needs help. It was a little confusing at times, but overall, the fun and immersion far outweighed that.
Highly recommend Sandbox VR if you’re in the Louisville area and looking for a unique,...
