I have never shopped at Von Maur but after my first experience, I'm sure to return. My daughter and I had the best customer service on the worst of days...I'll explain: My daughter put a dress on hold at a big chain bridal store on Mother's Day, the sales lady gave her a hard time about holding it overnight, we show up the next day around noon and they had sold the dress she was supposed to be wearing to prom the following Saturday-I didn't want to order and pay for shipping the dress with them after what happened so I looked the dress up online. I found it on a local department stores website and called all the local stores with no luck. Then we found it on Von Maur's website, we're in Cincinnati, we don't have any stores locally and I've never heard of Von Maur-I was concerned that I might be ordering a dress from China (no offense to China or anyone that's Chinese, I've just heard horror stories about items not turning out to be quite what you order). I called the the order line and the woman that answered instantly completely put me at ease by explaining the company to me, along with their history, locations and years in business. She also helped to figure out the best way to get the dress to us in time for prom-I only wish I could remember her name to give her credit. She found the nearest store to us that had the dress and transferred me to Lindsay Cloutier at the Von Maur in Louisville, KY. Lindsay listened to our plight and got right to work getting our dress ordered and shipped (we paid to overnight it). It arrived the next day and was packed beautifully, like every girl would want to receive their prom dress. The icing on the cake was that it came with hand written note on a Von Maur card where she thanked us for shopping at Von Maur, hoped my daughter enjoyed her dress and expressed that she was glad to help save the day (as I told her). She also enclosed a store business card and told us if we ever needed anything in the future to let her know...can I just tell you how sweet that was!!! If I had a business, that would be exactly how I'd want my customers treated, because let me tell you, it really felt great. I hope this review gets back to both Lindsay and the phone representative and that they're commended for a job well done....
Read moreI've been shopping here periodically since they opened. The top 8 reasons I keep going back: 1. They can be a little pricey, but the merchandise is top quality & worth the extra I've paid. If your $200 dress still looks good in 5 years you've definitely gotten your monies worth. I have one older than that & it still looks fabulous. 2. While they don't have sales as such, they do have racks of marked down merchandise. I've gotten quite a few bargains on these racks, some items over half off. 3. The mark down shoe room alone is worth the stop. You may not find those $200 shoes you've been watching, but they have loads of quality shoes marked down to relatively cheap prices. 4. Depending on when you go, you can rest in a chair on the first floor & listen to live piano music. 5. Their employees are unfailingly polite, helpful & friendly. 6. Free gift wrap. 7. If your purchase is a gift, get a gift receipt & the recipient will have a no hassle exchange. 8. No interest store charge card. Yes, you read that right. As long as you abide by the terms of the card there is no interest. What's not to love...
Read moreIf youre looking for a high end experience, make sure you walk in looking their type or meet their starch white dess attire. Do that and youre greeted by a group of stepford wives to hover and attempt to meet their quota of sales, no matter something needed or not. Goal, sale, sale, sale. Now go in after work dressed in jeans and t shirt and not showered, but hey y You've got little time to get a special gift.. the greeting is quite different, everyone keeps their distance and if you are asked "may I help" your response in either, " you can check out our clearance." Or more of, " i dont think we'll have anything to fit your budget." And they direct you out into mall. Watching your every move, assuring you dont "pickup" something on your way out. And they then hover and disinfect ther area to remove your funk. Funny thing was, I had $700 to spend that day on a bracelet, which another store gladly helped with. Von Maur shame on you. This isn't Pretty Woman and youre not a...
