Highly do not recommend for party or event. I worked with Chloe to plan an event for 20+ people. First, it’s impossible to reach an event planner except between 9-5 weekdays (but they give you an option on the phone menu for events- you will just go on hold indefinitely outside those hours. And you can fill out a web form but it will tell you their system is unavailable.) I was quoted one price and package verbally on the phone then received a contract with a different price. Was told 1.5 hours of golf and food for $40 per person. When I received the contract it’s actually a game of golf (which isn’t nearly 1.5 hours) and includes a 5% “management fee” and 20% service fee which are mandatory- fine but include that in the price you quote. The event planner, Chloe, asked me for a headcount and a deposit which I provided via their online process. I was told the day and time I needed to provide a final headcount (also in contract) and I agreed. Event planner, Chloe, proceeded to call and email me daily for five days asking me for the final list and asking to charge my card for the final amount (no thank you- I will provide it via email as agreed before the time outlined in the contract was my response multiple times but that did not deter her from calling or emailing again.) Chloe then emailed me when I did provide the final list and pay and indicated that my name wasn’t on it (it was a kids group) and that if my name was not on it I could no play golf or eat from the buffet. I told her we understood that- the golf and buffet was for the kids. Parents (only a couple of us) were going to sit separately and have some appetizers and drinks (unless something had changed this is not allowed at this establishment- we generally understand how restaurants work!?!) When we arrived there was no group manager on site (see above about their hours being 9-5 weekdays) and no one seemed to know where to send us. We asked before we signed the contract to play golf first and then eat. Really do not advise this option. We arrived and no one there could really help us. We stood for awhile waiting for someone to try to find someone and then they needed to find someone then we went to two different golf areas before they got us to a place we could play. Manager on site then snarking told us they really do not line people to golf first and then eat because it’s impossible to time food and have a good experience- awesome, maybe she should talk to Chloe. Golf was fun (why we chose puttshack in the first place) and then we ate. Were given a sternly worded note via our server and some wristbands from Chloe that she believed we’d have parents who would try to eat off the buffet who had not in fact paid for said buffet and we needed to use the wristbands for the buffet to indicate who could eat at it (probably they also could tell based on who was a kid and who was an adult but whatever.) Seemed snarky and unnecessary given the previous multiple warnings we got and the fact we had four adults there who sat and immediately ordered drinks and food separately before the buffet was even available. Charles our server was a bright star in an otherwise sh$&show of event planning and on-site coordination. Somehow despite having lots of servers working and us being 25 people, they left Charles to manage food and drinks for all of us on his own. He was hustling! I certainly hope that 20% service fee went directly to him. Despite the fun golf, I just can’t recommend this for a...
Read moreMe and my wife go here occasionally, not to mention she used to work there. For guests, the atmosphere is decent. The problem I have with it is it’s super busy and despite the door saying, “does not allow anyone under 21 after 8pm,” they still do. We literally saw I’d guess 15 children enter after 8pm tonight. We don’t have a problem with it, it would just be less busy if they followed their own rules. The food is good, but way overpriced. $18 for a sundae? C’mon. The putt putt is fun, but sometimes the system bugs out and miscounts how many times you hit your ball (this has happened at least once every time we have played), and the golf balls get stuck quite often. The alcoholic beverages tonight were horrible which is unfortunate because they’re expensive (not to mention, paper straws). Nonetheless, the employees are all friendly it seems and they know the menu well. Puttshack gives club vibes with the loud music and whatnot (not ideal for people who are sound sensitive like myself), but you basically have to yell at people to have a simple discussion because the music is blaring. Would I return to Puttshack? Of course. All I’m going to say though is if the food or drinks aren’t fantastic, have that discussion with your waitress/waiter and they’ll fix the problem. They’ve always went out of their way to help, even though they are stressed and exhausted. I’ve been here approximately 8 times now and my score out of 10 for it is probably a 5. I say this because while I will return, I’m slowly getting to the point where I’ll only go for the mini golf. Do keep in mind though, it charged me $120 for 4 people to play two games. I feel that’s wild on top of the cost of over $100 for food for all of us also. I know it won’t be too much for some, but I’d hate to imagine what the larger families pay. There are much better experiences in Louisville to spend this kind of money on. As said since they opened the doors in Louisville, it still needs work. The problem is, I firmly believe management is basically saying, “It’s working so there’s nothing to fix.” Essentially minimal effort. Hopefully...
Read moreMy husband and I had a reservation for this past Friday night after having some issues with booking. Friday, the snow was piling up, so as we approached our reservation time, we called twice and waited on hold for multiple minutes trying to verify if Putt Shack was still open. No one ever picked up. We made the choice to try to drive there because we still wanted to play that night, and the roads were awful. We had never been to Putt Shack, and Google maps showed that it was located in the Oxmoor Center. We eventually made it to the Oxmoor Center parking lot, which was covered in snow, and started trying the doors. All doors were locked. We called again and no one picked up the phone.
A reasonable person would look at all these factors and assume that Putt Shack was closed due to the weather. We called yesterday to see about getting a refund since it appeared that Putt Shack was closed. We were informed that they actually were open and that only a manager could issue a refund to us.
We got ahold of the manager today and she informed us because we didn’t do our due diligence, she would not be issuing us a refund. When asked if it was an issue of whether she can’t or won’t issue a refund, she stated she won’t do it. I don’t know about the average person, but I think calling an establishment multiple times for no one to answer the phone, driving through multiple inches of snow and ice, and arriving at where google maps says a business is located just for doors to be locked seems to be “due diligence” in trying to make it to our reservation.
It is disappointing because we really wanted to try out Putt Shack as we love mini golf and we thought this would be really fun. But after all of this, especially the rude interactions we have had with the staff, we will not be going to Putt Shack, and we will be informing our friends to not go there either. I hope other people who have issues are met with more respect and understanding than my husband and I...
