Tonight was a friend of mines birthday, and we just wanted to switch up our usual 'go-to' place to eat. As per any Saturday, everywhere was going to be busy. So we expected a wait time. This place, in particular, had a 2 hour out time frame. Normally, we'd probably pass, but since we didn't have a prior reservation and our friends said it was good. We decided to wait. I can honestly say I'm glad / it was worth the wait. First impression, the music was loud. It's almost too loud, but oddly enough, you can still talk to those around you without having to scream. It was a but congested. If you're in the outside booths, chairs have to be moved at surrounding tables to get out. It can be a bit awkward, especially when all the tables are full. The bar is smack dab in the middle of the restaurant with plenty of seating. Almost every wall has a TV. So you can see pretty much any game that's on. To my knowledge, they have a good selection of alcohol but don't quote me. I'm not a big drinker. Plus, they seemed to have been out of a couple of their selections. Along with a few options for indoor seating. They also have outdoor seating with heaters available. Overall, this place is very clean. So that's always a huge plus. The place was slammed. So it was nice to see that cleanliness was still a priority. Second, everyone who worked there was kind, courtes and pleasant. The crowd was overwhelming, but everyone handled even the smallest setbacks with grace and dedication. Lastly the food was great! I'm usually a picky eater, but this place is chef's kiss. Definitely a must try one of everything kind of place lol I personally had the grilled chicken sandwich and the mashed potatoes. Both were very good. We also had the hush puppies and the dip as appetizers. Again, it's very good. Also, some must try menu items. Overall, this place is great. A must try place to add...
Read moreThis was a horrible experience! I had reservations, and when I arrived 5 minutes before, they told me the previous reservation was still seated at my reserved table. They asked if I wanted to sit at the bar or outside and wait and would comp me an appetizer for my trouble. I said I would wait at the bar. I also asked about how long, and they said it shouldn't be too much longer, the patrons were wrapping up. I sat at the bar waiting for my friend to arrive and we sat for over 20 minutes waiting. All the 2 top tables were now empty. We were confused why we hadn't been called. We had ordered the pimento cheese plate and it was horrible. The green beans were sour and smelly, as if they had been soaked in vinegar. The pimento cheese tasted like it was made with 70% horseradish and 30% cheese. My friend went to the desk and asked if our table was ready. The lady at the desk said that she gave our reservation away because I CHOSE to sit at the bar. That I told her to give our reservation away. I am handicapped, I would never choose to sit in an uncomfortable high bar stool with no backing on it. I feel discriminated against. I feel she messed up and gave our reservation away, and chose to blame me instead of owning up to her mistake and correcting it. I would have liked to have given more stars for service, because the gentleman and lady who worked the bar were both very friendly, charming, and helpful. I had to give 1 star for service because of...
Read moreGenuinely disappointed. My wife had the chicken sandwich. I had the chicken bacon sandwich. We also had hush puppies and the macaroni and cheese. The hush puppies were great. They arrived to the table fresh and hot, and had a great dipping sauce.
My chicken bacon sandwich left a lot to be desired. The bread was only toasted on one side, so the inside of the bread was already wet and mushy when it came to the table. Toasting both sides may have fixed that, but the breading in the chicken was very greasy, so it may not have. There wasn’t much chicken on the sandwich. The guest sitting to my left had a pulled pork sandwich that was piled high with pork. My chicken sandwich had about as much meat on it as a McChicken sandwich. My sandwich came with a honey jalapeño mayo which was quite good.
The Mac and cheese was truly awful. Instead of being cooked together at all, the pasta was put on a dish and the cheese sauce was put on top of it. It’s served on such a small dish that trying to stir it around resulted in some of it spilling onto the table. The pasta itself was very undercooked, nowhere near “al dente”
All in all,...
