Civic Center Park Madison Heights — Attraction in Madison Heights

Nice little park if you're in the area and need something to do. There is a good sized play scape and a walking path that leads up a hill. There's a barbecue and swings, including a swing for visitors in wheelchairs. I didn't give 5 stars because I feel there should be a bathroom facility that is indoors rather than a porta potty. And I feel there could be another play scape. Otherwise, if you're in the area and want to get outdoors for awhile this little park...

The lawn is well maintained and there are covered trash cans set out by the pavillions. The restroom by the blue building was a single port-a-john with a baby changing table in it. There were swings for the kids and some sport areas nearby for the adults. Discovering that the tornado drill siren was 30 feet away from the pavillion when it went off was less than thrilling. I just moved to the area and I've already been here twice. I loved this park! It looks really well taken care of, fields and all areas are clean, I needed a place to take my dog and this is perfect! You can have a nice view of the city from the top of the sledding hill. I've been there during a weekday in the evening and a Sunday morning, there's other people walking and hanging out but i have not seen it super crowded...
