We purchased our tree on December 1st, 2019.
My husband and I brought my brother and his little boy as well to pick their first real tree.
Thane was nice. My nephew shook his hand, and introduced himself.
Not even 8 days later, our tree was completely dead.
I reached out to the FB page, which I found out from Paul himself that his daughter runs. She was nice. I sent her photos and video, she said to go back to Paul’s lot and get my money back or pick another tree.
I showed up two days later, Thane was outside with a customer. I told him I’d wait until he was done, because I didn’t want to scream over the baler that my tree was dead and I was there for a new one.
He told me to just go into the RV, so I did. Paul was there with a lovely older couple. I began to explain what happened, he asked me if I brought the tree back.
No. I didn’t. I didn’t want to damage my car. I offered to show him the pictures and video, and explained how we took care of it. He waved me off, annoyed.
“Just go pick another one, and we’ll work it out.”
We picked out what I believe is a Frasier Fir. It’s the kind we’ve had for about 15 years, and it’s always lived from the day after Thanksgiving, well into the new year. We told Thane what happened, and he said: Oh yeah. I always tell people to avoid that one. Unless it’s in a cool place like a basement. I must not have been working because I wouldn’t have let you buy it They last like max, 3 weeks.”
Except he was working that day.
I didn’t want to argue with anyone, I just wanted to get a tree and go home.
Thane takes our tree, he’s about to do a fresh cut, and Paul walks up. Thane says we had a specific variety, and Paul says, “Yeah, those don’t last long. We always have a few like that.”
He asks how much I paid for the last one, and I tell him $60/$65.
The new tree was $85. He charged me the damn difference.
Thane was embarrassed. I was angry, but I just wanted to get out of there at this point. Hours of my time had been invested in decorating, undecorating, and cleaning up an inch of needles that were on the floor (not an exaggeration, I have pics).
We did everything by the book.
No matter what anyone thinks about Paul or his lot, we were knowingly sold a tree on December 1st that they KNEW wouldn’t make it until Christmas. And, when they had the opportunity to do the right thing, they didn’t.
I don’t remember the variety I was originally sold. But, what logic is there in carrying a tree on December 1st that you know won’t make it until December 25th.
That’s dishonest.
So, we won’t be coming back. Thane is very nice, and I don’t want to throw him under the bus. But, Paul was a-ok with charging us twice.
To me,...
Read moreWas looking for a tree nursery that you rent the tree and return it and get it again the next year instead i found this and it appears they just chop it down and pack it up and send you on your way. Disappointed in the process and was willing to purchase. Also find the reply rude and find my review accurate given that i was specifically looking for the service and this is what comes up when it makes more sense to have a recyclable and environmentally friendly product then have to use cost to upkeep more atleast yearly and find it a misconduct of resources and especially with the reply will never spend an unappreciated cent here. My review an obvisious basis of killing the tree for business, lack of eco-friendly option, what seems lack of delivery, what you can see on their website and now with the crude reply i feel event more solidified in it is tempting to event lower it but i won't because i made up my mind. I will with certainty not support this type of business...
Read moreI just picked up a beautiful Fraser Fir from Paul LaTorre's Christmas Tree Lot, and the service from Paul, Greg, and Thane was exceptional! As soon as I pulled up, Thane greeted me and my daughter warmly and walked us through their offerings. After exploring the lot, we chose the king of Christmas trees—Fraser Firs—because they shed very little compared to spruce trees.
Once my daughter picked out our tree, the team quickly trimmed the trunk to help it absorb water better, wrapped it tightly, and secured it to the roof of my car. They even gave my daughter a candy cane, which made her day!
The personalized service and fair pricing will definitely bring me back next year. Don’t be misled by any poor reviews—Fraser Firs are premium trees and worth every penny. If you go for a spruce, just keep in mind they naturally shed more needles. Thank you, Paul and team, for the great experience and...
