Kaoud Rugs — Attraction in Manchester

We stopped into the Kaoud rug store in Manchester after looking at a lot of different places across Connecticut and were unable to find an area rug and matching runner the sizes we were looking for. We had reached the point we thought we were going to have to compromise and settle for something less than we wanted. Since our search brought us to Manchester I decided to stop in and look although I had no intention of buying I thought it would be way too expensive. Irina the sales representative had us look at a lot of beautiful rugs but we didn’t see exactly what we wanted and she brought out a rug that she thought we would like based on what we had told her we were looking for and it was perfect and it could be made to the exact sizes we wanted for the matching area rug and runner. I asked if 90% Charlie was there instead of 10% Charlie thinking it was going to be way too expensive but it was very reasonable and exactly what we wanted I would not hesitate to shop there again or to recommend it to others. We had a terrific experience at the Kaoud Rugs in Manchester! Irina was a pleasure to work with! We explained what we were looking for and she and her great staff were able to pull out 5-6 runners that she thought might work for us. We were torn between 2, when she suggested we could actually take them home for 3 days to see how they looked before we bought. Never imagined that would be possible! It was such a help because it turned out we didn’t like either one in the space. But that’s not the end of the story. When we returned them disappointed, a gentleman from another store (so sorry I never caught his name!) collaborated with Irina to discuss the colors we were looking for. He said he had several in mind for us from the other store that he brought in the next day! They were 3 almost totally different rugs, but each one could’ve worked. My wife and I purchased two (2) rugs from Irina and Maurice. We went to Kaoud because my parents had purchased rugs from Maurice's father many years ago and after trying (failing) to find the "right" rug through the internet and a local dealer.

Maurice and his team were patient and had many options from which to select. We had very specific requirements in terms of quality, size, patterns and colors. We actually bought the 1st rug (Tabriz, silk/wool) he showed us. We knew it was "the one" but it took several weeks to seal the deal. We also purchased an all silk Qum that is a piece of art that will hang on the wall.

The extras that came with the transaction are worth mentioning. Kaoud included a pad for the Tabriz, they sewed in rings so we could hang the Qum, and they packaged the rugs securely for their trip to their final destination (outside of Connecticut).
